As in not involving me being on one but kind of because of one, went up to Timaru in the ute, on the way home a few kms past the Waimate turn-off theres a guy having a fag next to a Harley parked up in the middle of nowhere, odd place to just stop (long straight) i thought so went back and asked if he was ok,he said there was a trailer coming so i pulled back onto the road to be confronted with a bloke in a Holden pulled out to overtake, one of those moments i guess,he would have seen me parked on the side of the road possibly looked away a sec then nailed it,in the meantime id pulled on to the road,i went left and he went down the middle:blank:buggered if i know how both of us have mirrors to be honest,my ashen faced mate said "thats it last time i ever stop for a fucken Harley" i just gave a nervous chuckle and thanked the man upstairs.:msn-wink:

An easy trap eh!
A bit like pulling out my place to head down the main hill - always got to make sure nobody is overtaking a truck on the way up the hill towards me.

Yea i guess mate, most accidents i guess are avoidable but if the worst had happened it would have been hard to pin-point who was at fault, eyes of the law would i guess find him at fault but hey......who knows, out of interest how do you think it would pan out if we had had a head on?

I'm puzzled how you missed that.
Another one to watch, is pulling out of a side road and turning left straight into the path of a passing car. I was in the back seat when a relative did it - a bad fright.

Steve Not that hard really,i pulled out onto the road from being parked on the side of it(heading north) asking if the guy on the bike was ok,by the time i was fully in my lane a bloke in a Holden had pulled out to pass traffic (heading south).Thing is i guess a second after id pulled out he must have been going through the motions of doing so himself, remembering that he would have seen me first parked on the side of the road etc,i didnt miss anything, there was nothing coming from behind or in front at that stage.

Jesus - when I come across a couple of fags going for it, even if one is a biker, I get out of there before they notice my firmly sculptured buns........:spanking:

I would`nt wanna get killed by a Ford or a Holden to be honest.
But you posed a good question.
Pulling onto the road from the side, I guess you would be in the wrong( I`m always wrong). A good question indeed.
No-one was hurt , always a good result.

I have a theory that tells me that the probability of road-shit occuring dramatically increases when you diviate from your route plan.
Glad to read this worked out OK.
