Having a midlife crisis maybe but thought I'd like to have a crack at being a passenger on a sidecar. Last time I even rode a bike was when I was in my teens and I don't have a single item of gear ... now I'm a grandad and after two years of watching sidecars at Paeroa half committed to having a go.
Trouble is I don't have any gear Not keen to buy expensive gear for what may prove to be a one-off and I've been outbid 3 times on Trademe trying to buy well loved gear. (I bailed out after the $100 was passed for a jacket and pants - am I being 2 miserable?
Hope to head to Taupo next Saturday, 18th.
Know anyone who has gear that they want to unload, relatively inexpensive? (I'm 85 kg and 178 cm - 5 ft 10)
Cheers

Yes folks, the Sidecar Racing Associations 'Have-a-go-day' is again on this year at the Taupo Motorsport park on Sunday, November 1st. :woohoo:
Again it will be on track 3. The day will kick off from 9:30 till 3:30.
$10 will get you 3 laps on a sidecar of your choice.
Tell all your mates that want to have a go, as this is an event not to be missed!!!
For those of you that haven't done it before, PM Enigma51 or Kiwifruit to see what they think of it....... (Mind you, they are hard bastards.....):rofl::no:

Have it mate and enjoy.
Jeez, I love it when people get out there and get into stuff like this. My old mum for instance, shite scared of heights, came over here to NZ for a visit and jumped off the frikken sky tower.....mint....
Go for it dude

Before you make any under taking that calls into question your sanity, ask your self this question...when did you last lose track of time?
One of the first signs of losing sanity is losing track of time....Are you mad?

As long as you do what you need to to stay safe ( as safe as you can be while swinging!) then go for it, the thrill will send you crazy if you wern't already.
