Just finished a confidence course with Riderskills. Thanks Philip. That was amazing. The best thing about it was the fact that it was 1 on 1. I sat my BHC a few months back, and finally got around to getting my first bike a few weeks ago.
Such a great decision to take the course. It gave me a chance to pick up some good habits before I learn the bad ones. Three solid hours of riding and tuition. This was probably the best $225 I have ever spent.
Sorry. Still going on, but I was amazed the amount you can learn just by observing what is happening in front of you when you are riding. I'll be taking what I have learned today, and take it to my restricted licence in a couple of months. Then, I'll be after the Riderskills Streettalk course to allow me to apply for my full after 3 months.
Once again. Thanks Philip and Riderskills for a great afternoon.

I have not heard of riderskills. Is this an Auckland Thing? Sounds like a very good idea.
Are they also the ones that do the BHC and this being an extention of that?

PS congrats to you for doing it and on your new bike.

good on ya, I was lucky and had a good group of mentors, but still would have loved to go on something like that

Well done for posting this excellent experience.

I am sure that others will benefit from the same.

wow you mean you can do a course so that you have your restricted for only 3 months? It says it reduces it by 6 months if your under 25 or 3 months if your over. That doesn't make sence though, shouldn't it reduce by more if your over 25 being more mature etc??

...wait i have figured it out: http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/licensing/motorcycle/motorcycle-restricted-2.html
