Hi all, I guess I should post up my intro message.

I've been in NZ and Wellington for a year now, and since I finally upgraded up to a motorcycle from my commuter scooter, I thought I should join up and meet the people I see zooming past me every day (except the Harley riders, they don't wave! :bleh:)

Welcome to KB, Ojai. Seeing that you made your first post about riders who don't wave, you will fit right in to us KBers (LOL).

If you get past the Rimutaka summit into my territory, give me a yell - always looking for an excuse for a ride.

Welcome Ojai,

Checkuot the meetings and events for wellington based rides. The cruisy Sunday rides will probably start again now Winter is here. There might only be 1 - 2 Wednesday night rides left. Also check out the Club 250 forum. Yeah I know you are on a 400 but them 250s are more than enough to keep up over the 'takas.

Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks all! I am planning to do the Rimutakas in the next weekend or three, so I'll watch out for a V-Strom blasting past my slow ass.

I'll look out for the rides area, Dave. I would enjoy doing some rides. And as my top speed is about what a 250s is, I think I might do fine there :)

I'm gonna buy a harley, just so i don't have to wave at you !
I'll get me a harley, a half face helmet with a death head bandanna and hob nail boots, ya wont wanna wave at me cause i'll look scary ! Oh and i'll ride with other harleys and go to hog conventions and stand there and tell my other harley riding mates that my bike is the ABCDFXRGL with the chrome horn cover, which superseeded the ABCDFXRGK model that didn't have one !
Then we'll all mount up and make so much noise as we blast up to 100km on the highway, satan himself will kneel as we pass, all the kids will wave at us and women will touch themselves !
Then we'll all stop at a cafe and buy a take out cuppachino (so we can stand outside next to our bikes and be seen)
Then we'll all go our seperate ways (before the chaps get too much sun and the conchoes loose the shine) and park the harleys in the middle of our garages (so we can get all the way round it and polish the horn cover) till the next convention (or cafe hop)
Oh i can just feel it now mean ! I'm so mean my rice bubbles go shhhh here he comes !

Wellcome to the site !

You sure Bill? I could've sworn ABCDFXRGK was superceeded by the ABCDFXDGL.

Welcome to KB OJAI, you said been here for a year or so, where from?
An ex!@#$% Scooter rider ay, you'll probably never fall offof a real bike then, they're easy compared to a scooter.

Thanks caseye! I'm from the States originally, but I'm a Wellingtonian now. I've already forgotten what warm feels like.

So far so good on not falling off. I think you're right about scooters. I was laughing pretty hard when the guy who bought my old scooter wobbled off on it.

Welcome! You commute? What route? Might keep an eye out if we bump (only hypothetically speaking!!) into each other...

I'm the friendly guy in the red leathers and more often than not, orange backpack. When I'm not huffing and puffing on the pushbike, that is...

Yes, we were trained to think for ourselves. As a matter of fact, the school was founded by Aldous Huxley and Annie Besant. Google them if you want more information...

No need to Google. I studied a bit of Socratic learning amongst other styles a while back.

'I know what I don't know' or is that - 'I still don't know what I know I don't know' - you know what I mean?!

Read a few Huxley writings even.

I kind of like the idea of a blend of socratic/steiner/montessori learning - I like a good blend. :stoogie:

Hope this place don't do your head in, babe :thud:

That may have been me. I remember pointing out to some numbskull :bleh: on the motorway that if they don't turn off their indicators, some cage is going to take them out. (but in the nicest possible way mind you:msn-wink:)
(If it was you then sorry for the confusion but better to tell you then ignore it)

Nah, turns out they were trying to say "Your rear tyre pressure looks pretty low. You should get that taken care of tonight. If you don't, when you come around the tight roundabout in front of your house tomorrow morning, you will bin it and feel stupid."
