What to do with gear after a crash

Hi guys

I have recently just had my first crash and I wanted to know if any of my gear would be safe to reuse or should I be replacing everything that is damaged?

My gears condition is as follows:

Helmet: scraped on the visor and brow, only useful as a paperweight, to be replaced

Gloves: Minor to moderate abrasion on the palms

Jacket: No damage (yay)

Pants: Minor abrasion around the knees reflective piping is now exposed

Boots: Minor abrasion damage to the back of the heel only appears to be on the surface

Is any of this gear safe to reuse or should I replace everything that is damaged?

Sounds like everythings fine to re-use bar the helmet eh,no idea but if you have a friendly insurance company they may help out, dunno.

When pyro crashed he went to a place on queen street that put a new patch of leather on his pants and on the palms of his gloves. It was much cheaper than buying new gear and they look great.

I suspect you mean you have cordura pants?

Bar the helmet everything is fine.wholes in cordura all you need is a patch (lady ok k road does them) gloves just check stitching but id they are only scuffed then fine.. boots are pretty sturdy untill the stitching goes.

As quasi says though if its under insurance go to town. if not buy yourself a helmet and possibly some gloves (quasi had some for sale cheap, about 80 i think see if he has any left)the rest should be fine.

Helmet goes in bin once you have cut the straps off it so no one is tempted to use it. For a bit of fun you could also attempt to destroy it with an axe/sledgehammer as well as cutting the straps off. If you decide to do that please video and post for us. The rest will be fine, if you have insurance then take the money they offer and replace your gear, otherwise get a patch or 3 applied.
