So I did a trip from dunedin to Blenheim on Thursday, and back again today, and thought Id share my experience of the trip with you all.
I was amazed really, everytime I came up behind a car, theyd pull over to the side a little to give me room everytime a little straight or clear peice of road came along, I didnt give ANYONE the big finger, cos I didnt see a single idiotic move by a cage, every biker I saw bar perhaps 3 or 4 gave me a friendly wave in return to mine, and I had a bloody fantastic ride each way. Was bloody great, thats what biking is about, didnt even mind the cold on thursday I was so pleased witht he other road users, I thought it was bloody great to see everyone being so tolerant and patient on the road, was fantastic.
The highlight would HAVE to be racing the Maserati today from just south of blenheim to cheviot, absolutely magic!!!!!!
The only sour edge to the entire weekend for me was to hear on Friday that my cousin was killed in an accident up north, RIP buddy.
But anyway I wanted to share a positive riding experience as I imagine it would be a nice change to hearing about all the fuckwits on the road at a time like easter.
Anyone else have a really goo experience this easter?

Pauanui and back on the Friday.
Whangarei and back on the Sunday.
Considering the sheer volume of traffic on the roads everyone was reasonably civil
..apart from the AKL motorway which is a continuous bearpit.

Now to be honest, I was expecting the worst in that story :(
But chuckled half way through to read a good ride.
The difference between North and South huh?
I have noticed too, some drivers pulling over to the left.
I think more people are actually looking at whats behind them.
:2thumbsup for them.
The only traffic experience for me this weekend, was quiet roads to go for a ride on. And the scenic routes are not often used.
Went to Lake Taylor in the car, via very scenic back road. An excellent piece of road for a bike I will add! If you like gravel riding.
Struck traffic coming home via highway. And they were all travelling well!
Sorry to hear about your mate.

If your cousin was the man killed near Wellsford then I was caught up in the traffic surrounding that one. Considering what had happened in front of us and that it took about three hours to travel 20km, I was amazed at the patience generally being exhibited and the good spirit that everyone was in.
We did over 1500km (a return trip from Tauranga to Cape Reinga) and the only idiots we saw were either in Subura wagons or Audis but they all appear to be cocks, regardless of time or location.

no joke mate, i was amazed, I was expecting to be yellig and swearing at alot of cages, and flipping the bird, but nope, it was fucking fantastic!!!
if it was a bike accident then yes that wouldve been him. his mate passed him when he slowed down, then went back when he didnt catch up. still dont know what happened, probably never will.
I fucking hate hearing about bike crashes and deaths, fuckin sucks even worse when its your family thats the victim.
