Had to say good-bye to my little Minature Foxy "Jake" on Saturday, just before I had to leave for the Bucket grand prix.
He had just had a seizure and had been going downhill for the last few months. However, 15 years old is a good innings. So, Mrs Nudey had to take him to the vet and I got a call at the racetrack to say it had been done.
He was the most sweetest, playful and affectionate dog you could get. Also had the typical "small dog, big nuts syndrome" that they have :innocent:
So, bye bye little dude. Have fun up there and pee on god's furniture instead !!!

That is sad news mate. Foxy dogs would have to be the cutest little things. I have had 2 now, my last one is still going at age 14, slower to be fair but still trying to keep up with her bigger counterparts from time to time. I had to let her go when I moved back into town, she was a country dog, and now she lives with the RD postie, gets spoiled rotten and I get to give her a pat every so often.

Sad to hear your little guy is gone, he looks a real trickster! It's amazing the way animals wheedle their way into our lives and our hearts!
You made a difficult but good decision for your little pooch. I think there's nothing worse than seeing animals that are really unwell having their lives prolonged.

Having made the heart breaking decision to have our 14 year old dog put down a couple of months ago, you have my sincerest sympathy.
Happy memories can be a wonderful salve.

Thanks people :)
I think it's going to take me a wee while to get used to him not being here.
I'm not as strong as I thought I was.

Been thinking of back when my old Huntaway Podge died,he was 17 and sending him on his way was damn hard,a mate suggested getting another and at the time i was :angry2:no way etc but 3 weeks later a little bundle of fluff Border collie needed a home, hesitant at first it quickly turned into another of the best things ive ever done, old Podge will always live on in my heart never to be replaced or bettered,Mac the Collie does however provide me with a more than adequate replacement,i love him no more no less,he just does it different.Just a thought, theres a heap of dogs out there that live shit lives, you obviously love dogs and can give one a great home, worth thinking about when the times right.

Thanks TLS.
Yeah, I'll always have a soft spot for dogs, always pat other people's ones but none will ever replace my little "Jakey-dog".
Probably will get another and will definitely get one that needs a better home rather than spending on a pedigree.

Hey sorry to hear of you loss guys, been there before and are facing it again soon as both cat and dog, 15 and 14 are on constant medication to keep them going. Dog is diabetic and requires insulin every 12 hours, so been a bit of a bind for the last 5 years. Will still seriously miss them when there gone though.

It was tough going in and getting him back in a mini-casket. Thought I could handle it okay, but it gave me a few moments......

Sorry to hear of your loss. Having just recently lost a beloved cat of 11 years, know you aren't alone. The wife and I will very much miss our little fur baby and things just aren't the same without him around.
Hang in there...
Godspeed little buddy...

We had our cat, Nitro, cremated as well. Did you read on the back of the certificate of cremation the poem "Rainbow Bridge?" Talk about not a dry eye in this house, wow, what a poem.
