First time doing one of these (warning)

Did the kiwi trackdays day on sat to prepare for the next days racing after not getting to the track in a month or so. Had a really good fun day sat with the weather looking real good for the next day. The guys in the garage to the left of mine were all looking well setup and ready ta roll come race day, kinda gave me things to think about that night :eek5: . My plan was to put a better set of tyres on at the end of sat's trackday so i was ready ta roll on sunday.......... So we tried to get the rear axle nut loose so i could change tyres and found it had threaded and wasnt goin no where pretty much locked on but looser than it was. Long story short i had to run the race meet with tyres i had already had on the bike for 2 trackdays.

Sunday morning arrive at the track the bike goes thru scrutineering, get to the garage put it up on the stands and i heard a rattle from the ass end, gave the rear caliper a wiggle and yep it was loose (at this point the axle nut wasnt going nowhere) so we pissed around for what seemed an eturnity trying to do it up. Wasnt working so we drilled and cold chiesled the nut off, my mate bevin (R1) then took his axle out for me so i could get out there with abit of mucking around we got it to fit put the tyre warmers on for bout 5 mins then it was time for my qualifiying run. Oh great im on cold tyres i didnt wanna give sinfull too much my plan was to be where ever he was the whole time trying to go as fast as poss with the "cold tyre" thing in my head. Ended up on front row with a time of 1min47 i think.

Race 1: Well at least my tyres are well warm now  Being my second race meet i had a slightly better plan of getting off the line quicker which kinda worked, still musta been 3rd or 4th into turn 1. Then as per my plan i didnt wanna stick behind anyone as i knew sinfull would bring his A game and he did :wari: i felt like i just couldnt shake scuseme he was right on my ass and got really really good drive coming back onto the pit straight passed me easy as in speed but thought he'd do sum stunting while out there and did the coolest stoppie (as i said you got sum mean brakes man lol) and i over took again phew ended up 2nd.

Race 2: Felt good bout 2nd in 1st race had to go harder after lunch (im always faster after lunch lol:yes:) So wanted to get a really good start, an it was better still not as good as id like but didnt stall found myself behind the ktm again (it felt like ages) got pasted and into the clear abit and pretty much just tryed to keep my corner speed up without getting too stuck in the moment etc the whole time being closer to sinfull than in the first race started getting backmarkers in the way alittle (not too bad tho) it slowed sinfull alittle which helped kinda real him in corner by corner ended with a not very big gap, another half lap and i just maybe mighta had him. Ended with a PB of 1min 43sec Awesum !!!!!

Well thats bout what i remember, i promise my next race report will be better people :innocent:. Cant wait to do it all again and it was great meeting all the good people sharing the same passion. Bikes For Life Whoop whoop !!!

Hope to see you out on track again some time soon (it'll probably be in the spring for me tho, not doing the winter series).

Good effort in your 2nd race. Hope you've sorted something for that rear axle, it got me so spooked that I bought a spare and rechecked my torque wrench just in case !

Congrats on your new PB which isn't that far off mine esp. when I consider Taupo to be my home track ! I obviously need to sharpen up as these newbie racers are beginning to nip at my heels :eek5:

Yeah you got that right ninjaboy  Bear in mind my bike is in pretty much standard trim still, gotta get sum flash suspention one day ....... Hey when you buy yourself a new ttx36 you could sell me your old one cheap :woohoo: Got the axle on its way right now $50 for the axle and nut from victoria bike wreckers (ozzy) found the guy keith really good to deal with so i recommend !! I propibly wont do any summer series either as were sooooooo busy at work so head down save sum $$$ so i can do all rounds this summer, in the mean time i'll do trackdays when i can etc. Ive always loved motorbikes from the age of 5, i was the sort of kid the said "when i grow up im getting one of them" ive never owned my own car (company car great ;)and been riding 16 years now. I love going to the track and meeting other people that are just as passionate as iam absolutly love it. I left the track feeling/knowing inside myself that i can go faster so i cant be giving up yet

Phew :sweatdrop So i don't need to panic with trading into a 675 then ?
Know i'm pretty much at my limit (maybe another second or two) on the speed 3 and thought i best get into an F2 bike quick smart, or you'll be leaving me behind !

Bill dont count me out of all of the winter series rounds tho if theres a fine one i could be there id just have to see how i go. You should definately get the 675 quick smart so you can have all winter to get it right and ready for this summer cos im really looking forward to doing battle again (we're close man) I think i got a couple tricks up my sleeves to bring my times down a tiny tiny bit, and once i get my flash $$$$ suspention who knows maybe i'll take over the world mwahahaha mwahahaha. Dunno how a 675 gunna go against my GSXR tho ...... Well its back to the shed for me doin skipping and bag work id like to loose 10kg by the time summer rolls round. Seems abit pointless at times tho esp with the rums/bourbons etc etc lol. I'll get there.
