i'm thinking primes or the new fox ones with the bonded soles F5's? the fox ones are only about 350 odd compared to the primes at around 500 but i don't like the quality of the bonding of the fox's sole. I'm thinkin i'm gonna get the primes once the space is cleared on the credit card.

Let us know what they're like if ya get em. The Axo boxers are a good boot in the super cheap market so i recon they gotta be a trusty brand

What say the customers SCOTT411 ?

We bought 2 pairs of AXO boxers to start us off in this sport. That was 3 years ago they are still hangin together fine! I'd probably get something a bit stiffer in the ankle area now but they have been really good boots for $180-00 bucks thats for sure! Our Axo pants etc have lasted very well also! I don't have a problem with Axo quality if thats any help Chop.

i rate them very highly,

My boxer boots haven't lasted so well.
Leather is cracking and breaking up on the pivot points. They soak up water through the stitching on the sole, but other than that, they're not too bad.
Could it be because I've used a leather conditioner on them thats caused them to crack/split?

don't think the leather cond would do that. I never put it on my boots and they all crack/split lol. You're supposed to put that shit on aren't ya? does anyone do it? what kinda results do ya get?

so far the mrs's ones are about a year old, the only cleaning they get is the waterblaster, so far so good :)

which is why i bought some a few months ago, and aside from a broken buckle strap, not bad, possible a bit flexi for some people, but im not too fussed

Axo prime boots, whos got em what they like?

they're stiff and bulky and will take some wearing in. I'd suggest sitting in a spa pool with em before riding in em. i have good blisters lol but they're the right size for me (13) i normally buy 14s and wear 2 pairs of socks but these are perfect.

The boots i'm coming out of are THOR QUADRANTS i wanted the AXOs cos they're the cheapest bonded sole ones, because they have alloy buckles (buckles seem to always be the first thing to break) and because they look cool LOL. But the top of the line FOX boots still have stitched soles and they are supposed to be micky, they don't have the large perimeter issue as the sole kinda cuts in under the boot and the lip is low profile. I would have got these boots if i had the extra cash but kinda like taking gambles and trying new things (plus the Primes just look so hot!) I do wonder how long the bonded soles will stay bonded tho?

I figured the bonded sole would make the boot feel smaller and it does around the perimeter but they're much bulkier than the quadrants over the top of the foot and i've had to adjust my gear lever to a higher position so that i can actually get my foot underneath it to shift up

All up i love em and can't wait to break em in and get some solid riding out of em. They look to be of a high build quality and they provide great support. And did i mention they look fukken dope? i'm gonna be pulling mad bitches in these puppies

Mate with our new leather work boots on the building site we always used to leave them in the tub to soak then wear them wet. When they dry on your foot peeerfect fit and no blisters!!!

I'd just like to publicly thank Chop for taking the time to call me back on the mobile (at his expense) and give me the low down on his Axo prime boots!

Thanks Mate !!!

Firstly I had Axo boxers which for the price lasted really well so Axo was top of the list for me! Alongside Gearne.
I choose the Prime as they look the shit and I'd heard the Gearne crossfires had trouble with the screws coming loose plus they didn't feel quite as supportive in the ankle and where $3-400 or so more. So it was the primes for me after Chops recommendation, even though I couldn't find to many reviews on them via google!

Took my new ones for their first run out the sandpit Sunday!

Ride report.
They look space age with the molded soles etc You don't need a separate booty and they have the rubber bits that fit over your leg at the front to keep the water etc out!

First mistake buckling them up real tight! With my old Axo boxers I had to crank them up, to get them to feel supportive, you don't have too, I found they give you good support just firm even loose!! So for the first half hour they where to tight and stiff. I was thinking bugger can't do the two man race in these! My feet where throbbing and I couldn't change gear to well and I was locking up the rear all the time! I was way out in the forest and I couldn't be bothered goin back to the truck to move my gear lever up a spline! So I had fiddle with the buckles to loosen them a bit, rode a bit, then another couple of notches looser! They where quite loose now but still felt like if i hit a stump they would do the job. It was wet, really wet, so plenty of big puddles and etc to go through.
They where starting to limber up, gear changes coming easier, foot settling into the boot better and not throbbing anymore. So I tightened them a click or two. I read the instructions and it said to run them tightish to get them to fit the foot better and store them done up, to keep the shape (which I'd never done)! Ok nearly an hour on the clock now boots feeling mucho better! Nothing like water and sandy trails to test a pair of boots!
Now feeling bloody good much more firm, good ankle protection, really nice fit (which I think will get even better with a couple more hours in them). I like the double Velcro on the front, the fast start gear change thingy on the rear of the boot works good. Catches work good with a push to click them in rather than having to hammer them in with the other boot, and they didn't pop open even though I'd come to grief and got stuck a couple of times. One stump I hit took my leg back past the rear wheel with the impact, I'm pretty sure I'd have felt some pain with the old boots but nothing in these! Back at the truck slide my foot out and dry socks (except for the sweat), well now I'm really sold!
Overall pretty rapt in the Axo Prime's if they last as well as my old boxers I'll be Happy, but have to do 3 years or so before I can get back to you on that one!
Looks to me like a high tech boot priced really well to get a hold on that section of the market, so buy some now I reckon, good boot!

That's super cheap for tech 10's are they on closeout ?, they retail for like 550USD I thought.

Don't go hitting anything hard with those Fox's, got a mate who broke one ankle & badly sprained the other with those boots.

Agreed on the SG10's, smacked into a stump, decent hit, on Sunday & I reckon the SG10's took it better than the Sidi's to be honest.

There are 2 different types of tech10's

Gonna go for these most likely. Dunno what the difference is between the $570US tech10

I had a quick look at BTO but didn't seem worth it to import? Their prices on boots not to much under ours well not enough to make Xchange and freight ok??

My bad missed that, looks like a new model Tech10 for 2009 & everyone stateside is dumping the old model for $400 USD, given the value of the USD at the moment ( not great ), I'd check if any of the NZ shops can get close.

Scott has them for $810 & given you damn near beat Tony, I reckon you deserve a discount.
