Try searching the Moto GP website and see what they have to offer or even try looking in some of the motorcycle mags.
If that fails go in and visit your local travel agent. Goodluck.

Have a look at some Aussie bike hire firms (assuming you want to ride over there). there is this Brisbane crowd that does package tours including riding to Phillip Island. Bit pricy though.

we may hav a group of about 8 people going the bike rental is a good idea but for moto gp you have to park with the cages in the outer padock unlike WSBK where you can ride around the track.

we have rented a friends house on the island for 4 days ther might be some more room for anther gixxer rider:2thumbsup

Iv'e done this 4 times now, staying at a mates holiday house within walking distance to the track, just a fantastic weekend, make sure you take clothes to suit, the weather at Phillip Is can be stinking hot, freezing cold, hail and anything in between!! :cold::sunny:
Check out the expo, & suppliers displays/tents on the Friday, don't leave it till the Sat or Sun as the crowds in there can be crazy!!
I have just arranged my own trip each time, airfares, rental car, accm etc, but would one day love to do the full hospitality thing and another time would love to do the trackside camping!! I think that would be sooo much fun!
Have a great time:scooter::bye:

There are two seperate campsites available. Campers, vans and cars, or purely bikes. The bikes one is closest for embankment viewing.

All bookings can be made via

www.grandprix.com.au

or email

gpto@grandprix.com.au

Mods, feel free to make these into links please.

Great title to the thread so I thought I would just continue it.

Can anyone help a virgin MotoGPer? This is the first year the financial controller has given me the go ahead but I am on a budget (eg no VIP stuff).

I thought going with a group of Kiwis could be great, but I don't see many organised groups going. It is just me and maybe one other biker friend (if we can get organised).

We like a few beers but are not going for the booze up. We want to see race.

It would be great if someone with experience could give us some advice or even a hook up with a group. Anything?

Which grandstand is best? Is a grandstand worth it or is General Admission just as good.
If budget is a constraint, better to rent a car (2 people) or take an organised bus from Melbourne. Would love to do bikes but imagine they will be expensive.
Any chance of staying in PI without costing the earth? Anybody got 2 beds in PI? Any recommendations for Melbourne?
Buy a package tour or just tickets and try to sort out accommodation, transfers, etc separately?

Finally, on the package deal front, the one Kiwi package I know of (Boys Trip Tours - posted earlier in this thread) seems to be offering $1800NZD for the entire lot (not including food, booze, etc). This seems a bit high considering...

$810NZD gets 4 nights at Melbourne Travelodge, and Fri, Sat, Sun return coach and General Admission - through the www.motogp.com.au site (click on travel packages). Even the flash Grand Hyatt is only $1200 for the same package.

Maybe I am not comparing apples with apples, so maybe somebody can tell me why the big difference just for the flights.

Basically, I have no idea what I am doing here and would appreciate someone helping me out. Happy to compensate with beers if we meet up there. :drinknsin

There's an ad in April's kiwirider, page 88.
Offer includes flights, transfers for all days, accom in houses on PI, grandstand seats, insurance and taxes.
No price listed, but email to

motogp@trackfun.co.nz

Let me know how you get on.

Oh, and I know you're not after a piss up, but they state "entertainment kiwirider style". Should at least have access to a bar. Us, we're on it in the van in the campsite.
