Does anyone know how much the entry fee and transponder cost is for this series?

No info on their web page from what I can see.

They don't use transponders (as far as I know) and entry is usually about $30-$40.

Transponders

Although to be fair they did run them for the first time at the SOT and didn't charge the riders for them

The grid is organised like this, fastest person on the warmup lap gets pole:2thumbsup

Also you need to be aware 4 of the 6 meetings are run on B track only 2 are normally on the full track

I did the SOT, I guess I tought they were going to use transponders again.

I really enjoyed the track, so I'm considering visit the track again for the winter series.

I like the laid back meetings, and no Japanese jet fighters is a bonus too.

What's the B track like?

If I can store the bike in CC, it wouldn't bee too expensive to just fly down for the meetings... hmmm

I doubt there is a loop to use transponders on B track, they may use them on the full track though

Hmmm, if I store it for him, I could nick all the good bits off it and he'll never know...muhahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Did I say that out loud?

Tony Mac- BEARS committee member and KB member (whats his handle on here again??) owns Affordable Storage. Maybe he could help you out

You can store it in my shed, but my Jap Jet Fighters might beat up on its ass.:buggerd: You will find the Winter series pretty laid back and dont get going untill after lunch and depending on what classses you enter in you may only get pratice and two races. you will find that plenty of people will help with bike storeage and pick ups from the airport and stuff. Its a good idea if its an alternative to parking your bike up for the winter.

You'll most likely find Ruapuna has more grip than any of the north island tracks.
It's awesome, fun and technical.

I'd like to thank all you guys for the responses and offers to store my bike etc. I'll get back to you when I have a plan-ish.

cheers!!

If this new bike deal comes through in the next few weeks, I could always be into sharing costs for one or two of the rounds mate !
If you were to go that way !
Might even check with a mate of mine to see what trucks he has lying around seeing they go on length of the vehical !
A truck that can carry 3 or 4 bikes plus gear wouldn't cost a great deal more than your van !

Sounds good!
I'm keen on the full track first round on the 10th of May.

Just made the call to Al re a truck and he has nothing suitable at the moment, which is an arse !
Wonder what the cost would be for a van and 3 bike trailer, soon have a tow bar fitted to mine if it came to it ! But knowing toll it would be the same as two vans !
Guy i'm meeting re a trade for my 955 lives in CHCH so the term two birds springs to mind !

I had a quick look at Interislander

'van' vs 'van w/ trailer 3 meters' : $245 vs $369
two adults

I'm still don't know if I can go, but as it's pay on the day, the whole thing seems quite flexible.
