Help with handlebar risers

Hi there,

I want to raise the bars on my 1250 Bandit and would appreciate some advice. I saw some risers from the USA which lift 1inch and move back 1.25 inches. All the cables seem to be long enough except maybe the front brake hose.
1/ Whats involved if I need to extend this?

2/ These risers are $117 usd delivered which makes them pretty expensive. Do you know of any locally made risers I could get in Auckland

3/ Is this the way to go, or am I better looking at different bars

A set of tube steel bars should set you back around $50.

As above,as for the brake lines your local Stealership can get braided lines made up to the required length,had all mine done awhile back,cost me $65 each.Another thing to think about is am i going to clear my fairing with different bars?

The price for those risers sounds a bit on the expensive side, check out tardme and do a few internet searches.

Sorry don't know your bike, so check out how your handle bars are mounted to ensure that if you do go down the route of fitting risers you can actually fit them onto your bike (check how the risers bolt on).

As mentioned previously, handle bars are a cheaper option.

The riser price is OK considering the exchange rate and international postage. To put it in perspective you can get a set of risers from the bike shops that slot into the existing lower fitting for $70.

I am pretty sure these come sized for 7/8 & fatbars. If the Bandit has its stock risers bolted to the top triple then there are ones available as well.
Zeta brand. Pretty sure they are available in different heights.

Also check Trademe as they appear on there cheaper sometimes.

I think I still have a set of risers ! inch bar but dogs are four inch rise will check in shed tomorrow if you are interested will send photo . owe me $35-00

My bars are 7/8 in dia and I know you can fit risers to my bike. However, you got me thinking about new bars. With risers I think you are limited to about 1.25 ins and if I have to get new hoses made anyway then new bars with a higher rise might be a better idea. That way I can change the angle as well.

I got some high rise clipons on the tls you dont have to change anything try these guys at F1E, www.rapidartnz.com or 07 8476990 they are in Hamilton

If you just want a longer rubber brake/hyd. clutch hoses then your local car auto, brake and clutch type shop will be able to knock you up some new ones for cheap. I got a new brake hose recently that even had unusual fittings, cost me $30

Mine were made by F1 Engineering, Hamilton.
They were already fitted when I got the bike so don't know cost sorry.

yeah f1 made some for my bike too, but they are welded on not bolted
