Hey guys

I just got a letter from VTNZ saying my WOF is due on a bike that I lavishly wrote off around 15 months ago, I looked it up on carjam.co.nz and it seems that someone must've bought it from an auction and spent a year fixing the old boy up and then gotten a warrant for it, in Nov 2008, would this mean the current owner (in Tuakau) never bothered to change the address? Or just a simple mistake on VTNZ's behalf, it was from VTNZ Pukekohe, where it was previous WOF'd in Nov '08, so one would assume the WOF reminder would go to the new owner.

Kinda miffed if it is still under my address, I'm not sure if I would, but I don't want to be fitted with a speeding ticket if one was ever taken!

Any ideas how to correct this, or get in touch with the current owner to let him know? (carjam.co.nz gave me his name and town, but that's all, no contact phone number.)

Cheers guys

If Carjam gave you his name and town, then surely that's the information LTNZ has on their database -- that's who it's registered to...?

I think those VTNZ type places maintain their own records. At least it's not an official thing at any rate, you don't get letters from garages or normal WoF places.

Is it just a postcard reminder that your WOF is due? They send them out if you have obtained a WOF at that branch before. Give them a ring on Monday and tell them you dont own the bike anymore, should make the problem go away.

Yeah I think it's just a VTNZ screw up, which I wouldn't put past them.
Would have been nice to see mah old bike again though, not a day goes by where I don't regret re-buying it :(

It's not in your name so no problem. Like the others said, it's just VTNZ's DB that is the problem. You could waste time ringing them to 'sort' it but I wouldn't bother - just bin the reminder. :done:

Yeah, problem is the only person who's used that branch for a WOF is the new owner, I've never used Pukekohe for a WOF, hell I've never used VTNZ for a WOF, I always go to the bike dealership. I guess I'll just have to ring them tomorrow and find out - or bin it :P

Cheers for the help guys, must be the ghost of past bikes haunting me!
