Yes was suppose to get it ages ago and I've been a badass for a while but finally decided to get my act together and sit the test.
Hired a VTR250 from Colemans Suzuki, thanks Alistair Top Bloke. Naah don't worry about filling out forms, here's the key, full tank of gas goodluck!
I had never ridden a VTR250 and can't believe how easy it is to ride around town compared to my 636 which I sold a week ago. Shit gutless but perfect around town.
Arrived at Browns Bay, nice lady, got meself set up with the intercom. Tootle around the block and then on the highway and then back to base in only 25 mins!
I thought oh shit I've fucked up big time that's why she's got me back so early! She came around and handed me the slip saying perfect, I've got nothing else to suggest on your riding, well done.
Didn't even bother with the hazard malarkey, I was surprised !

I've always had an eye for Z750 and like the KTM's. If it's like riding the VTR (seating, positioning - handle bars ect) then I am hooked.....
Hmmmm....

Cheap !
$50 bucks half a day, return with full tank of gas, covers for insurance blah blah blah.
Some bastards wanted $80 for a blady cruiser !
Got my full now and no bike hahaha

Were you wearing a high-vis vest? That seemed to be the only point of contention I had with my assesor.
Nice guy through and through though - however we had to agree to disagree on the matter of high-vis vests...

Ha ha, shot dude, congrats. Nice feeling not having that to worry about in the back of your mind.
And yes have to agree what a blardy joke our licensing system is. Seems it's harder to acquire a packet of salt n vinegar chips than it is to get a license in this country.
And they say they want to bring the road toll down? How bout teaching people how to drive/ride properly at the start :girlfight:

How much bitch? KTM's are a bit skinny and I have a feeling I'd feel insecure in it
Leaning towards the Z750 coz it's phatter, sports bikes are so over rated.
See how it goes haven't decided yet.

Yeah, I was always paraniod taking the 636 out, got stopped a couple of times but never got a ticket. Good feeling though.
Agree with you, also comes down to the testers.

That's my point! It shouldn't come down to the testers
Should be a lot more hoops to jump through, it's a blardy joke!!!
I guess if you have been taken out by a learner driver & left with life long injuries from it is a little closer to the heart.

Yeap, but with this test she did actually test for everything the road code says you will be tested for. Right, left turns, intersections, giveways, stops, traffic lights, round abouts, u turn, highway, motorway, 50-60k area and 100k and even a 3 point turn (in a bike, on a narrow road)
It was just blady quick 25 mins, not an hour and the only thing she didn't bother about was the hazard part, which really is everything around you. Everything you see is a hazard, just have to stretch it tell them a tale. Bingo hehe.

MR Motorcycles Pukekohe had, a few weeks ago, a Z750 all set up for a test ride. Quite a good price to buy, if I remember correctly. I rode it , and if I was looking for a naked commuter, I would own one already. It sure was fun to ride.
