It has been done though it was phrased differently, something about "do you comute?" anyway I ride everyday Comuting or otherwise. Ride the bike to work on the other side of town and pretty much go straight there (6:30am no traffic and I'm not really awake enough to apretiate it) but in the afternoon I take the long way home cause I get off about the time all the schools are letting out and have been known to go for an impromto ride when ever the mood struck. I'm one of those that it doesn't matter what I ride or where I am going, I just enjoy riding.

I ride as often as I can, but that sometimes means not riding for a month :pinch:

I aim to ride at least two days per week . Summer or winter. Usually one of those is a work commute (hopefully with a bit of a blat after work).
Sometimes I get more (like if I'm on leave)
I refuse to allow weather to dictate my riding . Admittedly, that might be different if I lived where there is snow.
To my mind, a biker rides where the road takes him. Fine day - ah nice. Raining and cold, ah well slow down and enjoy it anyway. Good sealed road, wheee, crack open the throttle. Gravel road, oh well that's fine just slow down a bit.
I've actually had some very pleasant rides in the rain, it's quite nice swishing along, and rain usually helps to keep Stan and Maude at home .

I take my bike as a daily commute and use it even in bad weather unless I need boot space or to ferry others (ie WIFE).
Like today I had to cage to repco to get wire mesh to make a radiator guard and a couple of other stuff. So there are times a cage comes in handy, esp when it is getting more stuff for teh bike!!! :2thumbsup

I commute to uni on it 4 days a week and go on the occasional ride on the weekends. I sold my car shortly after getting the bike, can't afford both. But I'm lucky I'm still at home and can borrow my parent's cars now and then. Some stuff just isn't practical (or possible even) on a bike. Hell, most shopping when riding a bike is pretty uncomfortable if you're silly like me and wear full protective gear. Maybe jeans and a leather jacket would be better for commuting on fine days...

I ride mine to tech, then after tech - I'm either cleaning or riding her....
or sleeping and eating - its all I want/Need, I even carry silly loads on mine like 4k laptops (when I bought it on the tank) - and some shopping :D
Amen for tanks.

Used to commute, crashed my bike. It's sooo close to being roadworthy now. So I guess I'll be back to commuting daily to and from work.

Just had a couple of weeks of below zero weather here at night and early mornings, biggest worry is dorks in cars who are bloody clueless.Apart from that just take care and you`ll get their.Riding on slippery roads will sharpen up things like low-speed control (watch those summer-riders wobble through town),throttle and clutch control e.t.c.You`ll learn more in one winter than in years of summers that`ll stand you in good stead.
I love riding in the rain, clears all the oil and crap off of the roads and with todays tyres and brakes(and I`ve ridden bikes when neither worked in the rain in the past)it`s no big deal.

Not very often lately.
Every time I go near the shed somebodys removed another bit off the bike.
Two weeks ago he took a hacksaw and an angle grinder to it.
All won't be complete again until the mail man gets his bloody act togeather an delivers the parts ordered so long ago I could of carved the bloody things from unobtanium myself by now.
An it's only gonn'a get worse.
Bugger that guy an his bright ideas.

As I do drive other vehicles when it is required. However if I can I will choose my motorbike over any other vehicle, no matter what the weather is. :niceone:

I commute to work on my bike (Has to be really sh*t weather to be bothed with the car and traffic). Try to get out on one day of the weekend for a ride to blow the cobwebs out.

So if it even looks like rain I travel in the car..too old to be gettin wet!
In winter the bike will probably never be used, unless its a fine day..so I'll have to sort out some winter storage issues...

And remember it boils down to what you wear out there and not what you ride when things take a turn for the turdies. Don't be a dumbarse like me and learn it the hard way after a good dose of road rash as a teenager...

Meh, with the toys I have the bike gets most of its use from going to rallies and a little around town.
Normally it's a "convenience" thing, -i.e. if the bike locked in the gargre and it's a wet day then it drops in order of "What Mode of Transport Today".

My bike is my transport, so I ride it just about daily. Although I do admit 1 day last week it was absolutely pissing down with rain & blowing like a gale, so I actually caught the bus.

I commute on my bike every day, sun, rain, wind, whatever. The only time that I haven't was last years floods (couldn't get to work) and when I was off work after being knocked off. Actually had a few weeks using taxis and a week in the cage before I got back on my new bike.
Can't stand the queues and being stuck in a car. Modern wet weather gear, modern tyres and brakes make things pretty damn good.
Shit I sound so old. just like my Dad talking about his biking days.

The only weather that makes me leave the bike in the garage in the morning is frost when the roads are wet ... ice ain't nice. Actually rode to work in snow last winter once ... it started after I left home so i just carried on ... fairly carefully.
For weekend tripping around town we usually take the bike unless a bit of space to carry stuff is required, then the car comes out.

I ride whenever I can, the weather is not a factor, unless her on the back is part of the decision making team. I must say in her defence she has ridden in some really atrocious conditions in her time. (Without complaining) Cheers John.

I work from home and can usually head out for a ride whenever I want. If it is wet on the weekends, the bike stays in the garage and we use the car, but if it's fine we often head out for a ride together. It's great if rain is forecast for the weekend and it's fine during the week, because I can squeeze a ride in whatever day I'm not busy!
When I had the RG150 it was my only form of transport so I rode virtually everywhere and almost every day. Having a car does mean the bike is used more for fun, I don't try carrying the groceries on it!

'None of the above' : I ride to work EVERYTIME, no matter what the weather. Then depends what I'm doing etc whether I take the car at other times. :ride:

I used to ride daily - rain, ice and snow included. I only ever dropped the bike once due to bad road conditions (down Blacks Road in the ice for those who know Dunedin). Commuted to work in the snow a few times on the bike (High Street if it was light snow or cars had cleared the way, Warrender Street when I was pioneering the path for others).
These days I walk to work and ride in the weekends and can't be arsed if it's wet. I guess I started to grow up at some point, dammit!

It's not the ONLY thing I drive/ride but I commute everyday, use my bike for fun and don't take the car unless my 20 month old is with me or I have to take gear somewhere. The little guy trys to make me take him out but Mum says no.

Ride most days, any weather, day or night. Use the heavier bikes on those blustier days. Car comes in handy to pickup the new grand kids- prams fall to bits at 100kph when stapped to the m/cs.

RAIN, HAIL or mofo snow, I'll ride my bike in any weather as often as I can. Mind you, I've only had it for the last week. 1,000k's :) so far.

I voted for "Ride as much as i can, excepte bad wheather", but reading some of the other replies in here suggests that bad weather needs some defining.
I ride to work every day unless:
A) There is snow lying on the road;
B) There is black ice. (Dry frost is OK)
C) The temperature is colder than -6 C.
D) The wind is gusting at more than 140 kmh.
A little bit of rain doesn't hurt, but there are some weather conditions that are just plain dangerous.

In the year i've had my GN125, I've done 10000 km. I usually travel to work, 32 km each way, and use it for local running. With a Givi top box and back-pack, it's amazing how much you can carry. Had to take a desktop pc into work today so took the car and if the weather's really shitty, then I take the car. I've got decent gear but it's meant to be fun as well as cheap and if it's not safe of fun, then why take the risk?

I went from a fair weather rider to a "if I want to go out I take the bike" when my husband suffered a back injury and needed the car everyday.
Now I don't care what the weather is, I just go!
Love it...and I have saddle bags so I don't need to carry things in the backpack too much either...in fact I was just saying today I needed bigger saddle bags so I can fit more shopping in.
Hubby is a bit sad about this as he thought having the motorbike every day would help to limit my shopping. They say need is the mother of invention :-)
