A couple of the organsiers are from Chch, so we might have to try to arrange a group. I'll contact them and get them to put a message here. Cheers.

Im going down. We should meet at say the Caltex in Yaldhurst Rd at 1pm and ride down as a group via Sheffield and the Rakaia Gorge. About a 2 hr ride.

I've just registered for the rally, I can see a cost for the t shirt, but cant see where the cost of the actual rally is...

I'm keen to ride over with someone, Is there still gonna be a group meeting at the at the servo on Yaldhurst Rd?

Sounds good. Do you have a preference for how you want to get there? It's gonna dictate where we meet.

See you at cookie time about 10:30. Thompsons Track seems to be the way to go.

You guys put on a great little rally. awesome effort! Shame about the lack of numbers but that was the only downside. I do hope y'all keep your chins up and have another crack next year.

If I hadn't been such a sad ass last night, I might have had a chance at a prize! I may actually enter my bike in the "Best presented Guzzi" next time around tho.:first: :bleh: See y'all next year :niceone:

Respectfully request the name be changed to "The Nor' wester Rally" ! :killingme :killingme

Now I know what a Nor-wester can do to you. Like going down a strait road but srapping the foot peg. Seeing a paddock going from one side of the road to the other with you in the middle was like being in a sand blasting booth only dirtier.
Thanks Guzza for holding onto the tent until I got it pegged down.
Now the good things. Roast mutton dinner. The big bonfire. A band that played my kind of music. Bacon breakfast and a push to get me going in the morning.
I had a ball.:first:

Sounds like you and Guzza had a good time which is great.
Bugger about all the wind... but that's Canterbury for ya.
Is this going to be a yearly thing do you know?:niceone:

The organisers are saying yes. There was nothing wrong with the organsition of the event, I think the lack of interest came down to a very short advertising run. Over all, it was a damn fine effort when you consider it was only two months from brain fart to reality. I really want to see another one next year
The "staff" out numbered us by about 2 to 1 but we had an awesome time, imagine if there were 90 more bikers to share the fun? :niceone:
