Hi Everyone,
I've been riding my Scorpio for a few months now and finally getting used to the Wellington wind! Just arrived in NZ in December and got my bike in January. I'd been learning in Scotland on a Suzuki GS 500E but failed my test two days before moving out here so have had to go back to the beginning again and start over. :crybaby:
Probably not a bad thing in reality since the riding here is a bit different to what I'm used to.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you and hopefully meeting some buddies to ride with - hubby doesn't ride so I am all on my lonesome!!
Nice to meet you all!

Welcolme aboard KB and I see you are also from the Kapiti Coast, Good to see. I hope you enjoy living in NZ and enjoy exploring all the Great Roads that NZ has to offer.
We might have to convert your hubby into 2 wheels as he dont know what he is missing.
Nothing better than riding the Hwys on 2 wheels.

Dunno about the cute and furry, but I'm surprised at what a stir my handle has caused, the story is going to be such an anti-climax now. Now, now I said ANTI climax (before some of you get overexcited!!! :bleh: )
I started using the name about 10yrs ago as my internet alias. At that time my hubby and his mates used to take the piss out of the wives and girlfriends cos of the efficiency of our jungle-drums, and basically how much we gossiped! They began to call us 'furbys' and our group as 'Furby Net'.
Back in the days before kids and having plenty of time to myself I decided to run with the idea and developed a website and forum for us Furbys which evolved into furbienet.com (long since dead).
Anyway, Obi Wan Kenobi seemed the right choice of nickname for the webmaster and it was a simple shift to drop the Obi in favour of Furbie. I had developed a 'Furbie' name alias for all the other members based on their names/personalities.
And that's my story!!
Thank you all for the warm welcome. Joining KB is paying off already thanks to Ken et al from the Ullyses Club. I had a great time today on the Wellington Free Ambulance Charity Run. :niceone:

Welcome to NZ and good luck getting your bike license.
Welcome to the KB community, go find yourself some riding buddies and get them to show you what to do and what not to do. Enjoy and ride safe
