We have had the RRR, the King Country and the Southern Coast rides. So where to next?

So who wants to sort out the next ride?

On my part Phreaky Phil (not that he knows this yet!!) and I will organise another ride in the Naki later in the year.

I'm kind of working on one out Pongaroa (northern Wairarapa). Lots of tracks (Makairo, Little Manuhara), awesome roads (Pori, Puketoi, Spur, Towai). Could also add some farm land, and maybe the odd coastal station track.

Winter's coming quick though, so may have to wait until later in the year.

Well I'm up for another ride up Naki way since I had to miss this one!

I have a sneaky suspicion the East Cape area may beckon us forth after the NI Invasion ride in the SI!

I'll say nothing more at this point!

I'm thinking of organising a cruisy BOP ride in early spring.

And probably a shorter option for the MMMMM. For people (like me) who are afraid of horrific weather forecasts :innocent:

Meanwhile, no-one is allowed to organise anything interesting until after May 10th, when our bikes should be arriving back from Oz.

would a coast to coast ie gissy to New plymouth Ride be feasible, mainly gravel roads???

what about an adventure pub crawl

Down Motu Rd to Matiwai Pub - have a beer

around Waikaremoana down to Minginui and through the forest to Rangataiki

through the 42nd and Fishers

up to Taumaranui and down to the Whangamomona Pub for a beer.

A quick trip up to the Bridge to Nowhere and back

A perfect weekend :wari::banana::wari:

yes but at least it would be a big triangle - you wouldn't be returning the way you came. And its only 5 or so hrs from Whanga to Welly so...

on Friday ride to Opotiki.
on Sat do motu etc and stay Taumaranui Sat night
on Sun go to Whanga and do the track and ride home

easy peasy

I've been thinking I need to see the East Cape, so a Cape to Cape sounds interesting!

Anything that is a big triangle, square or whatever with no backtracking on roads already done sound like a plan!

Anyone noticed how the length of our rides seems to be increasing! Gone are the Saturday & Sunday 2 dayers - now its 3-4 dayers!!!!!

Not complaining at all btw - I think its great we have a good keen bunch of blokes up for getting out there on our bikes together!

Pretty soon we're gonna be on week long rides once every 2 or 3 months! If we keep this up we could be heading towards full NZ tours and trips rounds South America(my dream LOL!)!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everything go all right on your tour of the red sands island.

Everything went very well :D Once we got the bikes out of customs, we had 8533kms of trouble free riding.
Marks will be pleased to hear that Clint is barely pausing to eat and sleep in his ongoing quest to crop, resize and sort our 450-odd photos so we can start a ride report ;)

I was thinking of doing it the same as last year, but start at the Rangitaiki pub Fri night since it is now a pub again & not a P-lab.

How about June 13-14?

Cheers

Sounds more like it, maybe we will get enough snow to build a snowman this year?

edit....Clint it may be worth running a poll if your feeling democratic or arbitrarily picking a date and going with it, my desires may not suit the majority and it's important that you get a good turn out of keen bikers rather than one person who can make it in July.
