I’m another old fella who got a bike to commute to work two years ago. I finally woke up when the southern motorway was fully shut down due to accidents. I see a Triumph in the mornings with “WHY Q” plates … why indeed, bugger that.
I first bought a Hyosung GT250R because it had fairings and was red. It wasn’t perfect but still a bloody good bike despite its shit reputation.
I now plod along on a CBR 600RR. I like the idea of a little sport bike more than the reality of actually having to commute on one every day (150km/day-5 days/week-rain or shine). One day I want a 07 Z750 or Z1000… and a good wind breaker. Those Z’s are beautiful bikes.
I live 2 min from the Pukekohe race track and want to try out a track day as well. Have some fun and pick up some skills. I have heard that Taupo is a better track for bikes, Puke’ being too fast to learn much?
