What with swine infecting us with deadly viruses, the worlds economy going down the toilet, Helen De Clerk trying for world domination via her new position, I thought it was time to remind everyone of UnZud's new Folk Hero.
Plod might not like the title, but "Billy the Hunted One" has a certain charm to it. And like most scaly wags that get up the nose of the constabulary, he is gaining a bit of support from the public.

I'm not sure if he has harmed anybody, but if he is leaving thank you notes after scoffing down a bit of food, then is he really that bad?

I quite like the song written about him.

..."harmed anybody"....??

He threatened police with an iron bar. No doubt their feelings were hurt and they are getting more hurted by the day. He's giving them the right, royal runaround. Until he DOES hurt someone I'm just going to pig out (sad pun I know) on popcorn.

It's unlikely to get much warmer out there though and you can only turn your gruns inside out so many times.

I'm sure some of the locals will leave a few bits of camping gear, and warm clothes laying around;)

I can't get the below image out of my mind for some reason.:innocent:

Folk hero? some criminal scumbag, the only people he'd be a folk hero to would be brain dead mouth breathers

Maybe it has a certain charm for the idots who haven't been a victim of his, bet they wouldn't think so much of him if it was there houses, businesses and cars that were being broken into and stolen

The guy is a wanker
"The song mentions Stewart's penchant for slipping through police dragnets, his knowledge of the South and Mid Canterbury region and also the fact that he carved his thanks into someone's table after grabbing some food."
I can understanding taking some food (he is on the run). but carving ANTHING into my kitchen table means the stirling gets the magazine and i go hunting "rabbits".

So enlighten me, what makes him a menace to soceity?

I'm only seeing it from a "Ned Kelly" angle. What makes him a wanker and a scumbag?

Your joking right?
You would shoot a man for carving a message into a table:eek5:
That means every school boy should of been executed in the fourth form:2guns:

Admittedly, stealing vehicles, and entering houses are illegal, but is he burning/crashing the cars, and torching the homes?

Maybe you haven't seen how uncomfortable it is for people who have had their HOME violated and intruded by strange invaders. Maybe you haven't had to fork out the money to repair your car when you may be in trouble money wise already. Or perhaps you have, in which case I can't work out how the fuck you could sympathize with him. Funny you mention the Ned Kelly crap. Sort of like Robin Hood was seen as no harm, even as a good thing as well. Strangely enough a lot of the rumours and reasons why people liked them are lately turning out to be BS.

Well I guess my view of a mild trouble maker, and scaly wag is way of base with alot of people.
Best I study the honest/puritanical lifestyle of New Zealand citizens more.
Now where did I leave that turnip soup/main course/ dessert recipe.............

I would hardly say the life and struggle of Ned Kelly was "crap". Unless you know alot more about the behaviour of early Aussie justice than most historians.

Early Aussie Justice... By putting justice under a category as acceptable or not for the time and place I could refer to most medieval religious settlements and call the burning of non believers fine and dandy because it was acceptable and justified for the time. On topic though, I guess I don't really see things like what this guy is doing as a little ratbag just doing a bit of messing around. Imagine if someone stole your (or anyone else on here's) bike? Wouldn't be just messing around then, would it? I mean hey, it only had a few more scratches and km's on the odo and you got it back afterwards, but I can't imagine anyone would still rate it as messing around
