applied for a job at the $2 shop last week, as i want to buy a house and dont earn enough at my current job. had an interview this morning and just got a phone call to say i GOT THE JOB!!!! working 3 days a week, which means i get to keep my current job, which is a bonus.
so totally stoked... means i will be losing my weekends, but its worth it if i can buy my own home. split with susan so i can stop paying rent on her place to help with funds, and also selling a lot of my stuff on tardme.

just a note... if i manage to get the house im looking at, i might put together a kb working bee next summer to just get the basic essentials out of the way [painting house exterior and the like] and will put on a bbq and have cold beers/other drinks. can also provide overnight accomodation if needed, but bring ya sleeping bags. house has two bedrooms and a large lounge, plus a decent backyard for tents. double garage for tons of bikes as well.

How cool!- you will have access to all that dirt cheap plastic shit that no one wants but everyone buys.
masking tape that bleeds paint , sunglasses that make you feel like Ray Charles, scissors that wont cut, water pistols that leak, shampoo that smells like degreaser.
I love the place! laser pens and headlight torches that work for a week.
batteries that are pre flattened to save you time!
sticky tape that isnt sticky:wacko:

thanks everyone :D ive been txting back and forth with a friend who suggested we buy it together, but that wont be feasible for a while as hes renting but has no money behind him, sadly.

mcduck... it doesnt have very many trees, but theres a massive vege garden that needs digging over and weeding. i want to put a few fruit trees in though...
and yeh, id help you do a few things when you buy.

nasty... wouldnt that be wicked?? the place i want is like 5 mins away from the guy that owns your 500 now, so i could literally walk his bbq around the corner, lmfao. be neat cos you could come and visit whenever you wanted.

tim... if i can extend the mortgage/borrow more money, it would be do get essential repairs done and buy some furniture. when i get some money, im hoping to offer 100thou for the house. the sellers want 145thou, but it needs a fair amount of easily done work [paint, bathroom repairs, storm water etc] but id try and borrow 135 to allow for repairs etc.

cheers boob... got sick of being in susans rut with her. since she got laid off last year, shes done jack shit. hasnt applied for a single job... jumped on a course instead... she had a week off over easter and didnt even bloody vacuum... slack. she wanted to buy the house with me, but i know damn well her rut would come with her, and i cant live like that. got sick of her whining about being broke, but she was also $100/week better off than me, and i was the one working. shes on the dole.

all the wages from the new job are going to be going straight into a savings account which requires mums sig before i can access the funds... perfect way to save.

Its a big effort to get on the property ladder and its fantastic to see that you are doing what it takes for it to become a reality for you.

thanks again peoples

really hope i can get enough money fast enough to buy the house i want. www.realestate.co.nz #1048WE. the idea would also be to enable members here to stay overnight if they come up for boxing day or anything.

headbanger... currently im a cleaner earning approx $400/fortnight. the wages are great, but the hours arent enough. my ex was sitting on around $280/week on the dole.

Who are you going to have on the back of your bike if Boobs on Bikes comes to Wanganui then? Wasn't she all for it?

Lol we can talk about the vegi garden, what sort of fruit trees do you want? Vegis are cheep to grow and are healthy to eat to!

mainly want a feijoa tree... i love em, but they are so darn expensive to buy. its got enough room to have several trees, specially if i cut the vege garden in half, cos theres no way id eat that many veges alone, lol.

i had my mate suggest that the exterior paint could well be leaded, which means its gotta be removed a certain way.

Awesome news Charlie. I wish you all the best, you deserve it! :D

How's my old RG? Still going? What is it with you Helen, are you totally lacking a sense of humour? This was a joke - Sunhuntin made a big deal about how she was looking forward to the Boobs on Bikes parade and how she had talked her partner around to the point where she was keen to be on the back. I hadn't realised giving her a ribbing about this was a no-go area.

I wish her all the luck with her house buying efforts and also her decision to move on from someone who was obviously bringing her down.

just an update on the new job. it officially rocks! nice, cruisy hours, but its busy enough that the shift just flies by. really loving it. get a lot of my old bp customers in, but minus the daily abuse. i havent been sworn at at all. ahhhh... tis bliss. my co workers are all great. friendly and helpful, no back stabbing what so ever. it is just the tops. :first:
