GN250 headlight?

I'm not a particually experienced night rider, I've caged a lot at night, but not very often on a bike. The thing I do find with my '06 GN250 (chinese built if it makes a difference) is that I can't see shit round corners. Is this a GN250 thing? Or just a bike thing?

Hey man, I havent braved the night thing yet.... or the rain... Im on my L plate also.... although I have tried out my lights etc... and must admit they show alot at night (Having tried em moving yet!) have you tried riding in the wet? keen to get a new riders thoughts

Nah, its a GN thing. I had all sorts of dramas riding at night. (I had an exemption to be out later than 10) It doesn't help that the headlight isn't up to much. I toyed with the idea of fitting a bigger bulb, but then looked at the alternator output and gave up.

Wet doesn't worry me too much, I started riding at the start of last winter so it was trial by fire with that. Good tires make a big difference with wet weather: I had the original commuter tires on my bike up until a few months ago, now with good tires I've got a whole lot more confidence in the wet

Yeah I have an exempt for after 10, but I ride mostly on lit streets. But the wednesday night ride is tricky to keep up with as sometimes I'm going round a corner into pitch black it seems.

Awesome..... did you notice any major differences to dry riding... and tips?

Is a GN thing. Maybe I'm wrong (someone will say) but it seems to me you could replace the stock bulbs with brighter ones like halogen. No plastic around the bulb so heat shouldn't be an issue. Also if you are going to be doing a lot of riding in the dark you might want to add some driving lights.

Ive had my tyres, chain and sprockets, and brakes replaced. Def feel a lot happier/safer riding now. Quite happy I had it done before my spill the other night, could have been a lot worse if I had the cheap and nasty original tyres on. Need to go shopping for a new bulb...

haha, your headlight wasn't too bad when I took the gonofaster to sit my full, and that was in pouring rain. Some headlight lens designs don't let the light refract in the right directions, possibly more noticeable on the chinese made ones, as they skimp on quality to make cheaper prices. Try halogens, they'd boost the cool factor of the GN. With bulbs, you do get what you pay for.
