Had a few days to spare and flew into LA to ride to Laughlin for the River Run. As usual; terrific weather...

Trouble is, a road like this makes it really tempting to hit WOT, open the secondaries, and see what she can do... but in the words of Bob Seger, that'd see us likely to end up "handcuffed to the bumper of a State Trooper's Ford".

Laughlin was very biker-friendly and unlike Vegas, compact, and unlike Sturgis, easy to get around. Pretty much V-Twin territory although the V8 bikes were out in force at the Avi resort over the river...

Met up with fellow Boss Hoss riders, which was great. Also did a few runs around the area...

The Hoover Dam (2nd pic) was a fast ride on great roads and impressive up close. With a big V8 hooked to a 2-speed semi-auto transmission, 70 mph in overdrive is just 2000 rpm - smooth, fast, and an easy 210 miles on a tankful of (cheap) gas (8.5 US gals in the main tank, 2 in the under-seat reserve tank)...

Always something unusual to see...

Then back to LA and on the plane, after a fast ride through an upscale neighbourhood and a quick shopping expedition at one of LA'S best bike shops...

As always, I found the US to be rider-friendly; thanks to all who made this another great trip (especially California Boss Hoss who maintain and prep the bike for me and keep it running sweetly; their cooling mods mean even desert heat doesn't worry the bike or me). And now it's back to work!
