Yes the new rules are designed for your bike and the VTR's and the GPX's etc. They are MNZ rules for nationals events I think. Not certain they will be racing this class at Nationals yet, but you'll want to start at the club level anyway.

This is the best series to start in. The Vic Club based in Wellington. However, they do hold rounds at Taupo aswell as Manfeild. My first season of racing I was based in Auckland but did the whole streetstock series and won it on my CBR250RR (stock standard). You'll have to find out if the Auckland Motorcycle Club runs this class. I hope they will.

Racing is actually a cheap way of getting track time although crash rates are higher when compared with track days. But it's so much more exciting.
