Close Ups segment last night on the drunken fools out duck shooting has attracted the attention of the firearms licensing people.
Good shit. How fucking stupid can people get?

Maybe the bare-bottomed chappie who dived into the water on top of a "floaty thing" was trying to sober up?

Some of the population are beyond help.
How many times have we seen lately where some drunken eejits have been out in a little boat, and drowned?
On the upside, at least they're only shooting each other. Hardly a problem for the rest of society.

My eyes about popped out of my head.
I dont have a firearms license, but am fairly sure the rules applying to them exclude booze and guns! What a bunch of tossers those blokes were.
I am all for the lads having a bit of fun, getting boozed and being completely stupid is all ok by me within reason, but guns and booze! :argh:

And it's not confined to duck shooting season.
I've heard plenty of stories about guys going out spot lighting in similar states.

Booze and anything designed for killing, or capable of killing... is rather foolish.
There are some that have been successfully prosecuted for drunk in charge of firearms before. Their firearms licence revoked/weapons confiscated ... as well as heavy fines.
Has any given any thought as to the real purpose of that clip being shown in "prime time veiwing" ??? The antics shown, differ little in many Mai-mai's throughout the country on "opening weekend".

Notice that actually happened on the first day? A 47 year old man was killed?

why can't we get rid of the rats of the human race in a similar style?
halelujah, let them kill each other, the plonkers. I cannot understand the behavior and the social cost to the NZ taxpayer.:argh:
Drugs and guns, bikes, cars, boats and almost everything else are a bad mixture.
It's just a case of applied eugenics.
Don,t mind Ducks myself.....mmmmmm.....very tasty.....

I know the family of the man who was shot.
Please don't insinuate that alcohol was a factor in his death, as I know for fact, it wasn't. It was a tragic accident, nothing else.
Did anyone notice how this looks on the New Posts list?

Fair enough, I couldn't remember the complete news item. I certainly didn't mean to offend. I do feel for the family in this case.

I don't normally bother contacting tv stations when they broadcast stuff I get annoyed about, but I did this time. I was absolutely appalled to see those guys drinking and then shooting. I know there are laws against drinking and driving but I wondered if there were any laws against drinking and shooting. If not, then there should be.
I can see a new Tui billboard now (that's what they were drinking):
"We trust our shooting mates when they've been drinking. Yeah right."
Enough of them kill or injure themselves when sober to illustrate the fact it's not an activity to be taken lightly.

In todays "Otago Daily Times" 21 shotguns in Otago & Southland, were confiscated for various offences (ie. no licence, shooting protected species etc.) NOTHING about being too pissed to shoot... $30,000 wort of shotguns the (previous) owners will never see again...

Well, I'm so paranoid I'm gonna stash my stuff, get off the porn web site and put your missus to bed.
(She was a bad fuck anyway...)
Or was it your mother?
Oh well, any wrinkle's a good wrinkle.
Not unrelated...boating down the Pelorous river a few years back with my son of about 6 or 7...
"What are those Dad?"
"They are Mai mai's son where hunters hide during duck shooting season....."
There was a bit of noise on the boat, so talking and hearing was difficult.... and his grandparents came from Holland. Two days later.....
Why do they want to shoot Dutch people?
