I wouldn't work for him again if he was the last boss on earth..... In fact, I've already given up a third of my wage so I could get out of that job... Money aint everything....

Congrats on the new job mate, I'm sure you'll be happier. And you are so bloody right, money isn't everything. That's my current dilemma, do I or don't I?

So, what is the new job? Ducati superbike test rider?

PS: I was in your area on Friday night, but I thought you'd tell me to piss off if I banged on the door at 2am.... haha

Nobody has to suffer a tosser for a boss. Most of the time, not walking away from a bad situation is in the head rather any other consideration.

Best wishes for a new start and a job that you'll enjoy :niceone:

Congrats on the job
plenty of work if ones wants or is prepared to do anything ay.
Nearly embarrasing.... well you took it didn't you come fess up now...
I make toilet paper and to get this job I had to pass intelligence tests, literacy and numeracy tests a physical test, medical test and lastly a drug test only to sit down for 12 hours waiting for the machine to break down. At least some of the machines have the interweb thingy connected.

Congrats!

But you will have to tell us what it is eventually, or we'll just have to guess. And there's some pretty sick people here.

Alllllright then.... I had a choice between 4 on, 3 0ff at mobil.... starting at 5am or 2.30pm and finishing at all weird hours and not seeing my bubba for minimum wage... or working 5 nights at pak & save doing night fill... for more money, getting to ride, and seeing my family...

not bad for a qualified spraypainter with a advanced diploma in system development????

who cares... It is worth missing out on the almighty $$$$ to have family and riding time :niceone:

I'm stoked..... might be able to own a house one day!!

let me tell ya folks.... It aint ever "money, money, money"
it's stability.....

money?? :whocares:

[edit]
the neighbours might have taken offense to the Duc leaving at 4.30am... now they get 10pm and 7.07am :2thumbsup

hey man no shame in that job.
my first job was at the meatworks , my job was getting a cows intestine in quarters then cleaning all the shit oout of it with my bare hands , no gloves,
then passing them on to the next dude.
i may have stunk like shit but i had a job.

Good on you Mike for putting the family first. I work from 7am till 3pm. It makes all the difference to the little ones seeing their Dad more often.

You will need to break out the ear plugs and make sure that sleep time is indeed sleep time to be treated as if you wern't there.

If you don't the family will wish that you had the mobil job. I'm speaking from experience. It's a major mind shift getting used to night work that the whole family needs to get onboard with or it won't work.
Small children don't understand that dad needs to sleep, but- cause dad is here and I want to see dad..... Works much better with older children.

I put labels on plastic bottles and on good days I just put them on the conveyor and the machines do all the real work. Though I do deliver the milk to stores and such, but I don't get to meet any lonley housewives that way.:niceone: Job is a job mate be proad you can take care of your responsabilities and still have fun on the side.

I see what you're saying... but I did nights at Kenworth (http://www.kenworth.com.au/kenworth/) and Freighters (http://www.maxitrans.com.au/freighter.htm) when I was painting.... so I'm used to stuff like that... mates are worse than kids...wanna drink all the time :apint:

Congrats Blackamin.

Having that balance between family and work is more important than money. And hey you've already GOT the duc, what need you have for money (besides petrol and tires... oh and drinkies... oh and... ).

If you're working nights, the missus won't be impressed if I DO bang on the door at 2am, yelling something about Ducati's, Yamaha's and beer...hehehe

Mate, you really do have your priorities sorted, I'd do the same for sure.
We must catch up sometime, will give you a yell soon,
