A truck and trailer has rolled, spilling diesel and woodchip blocking State Highway 16, 60km northwest of downtown Auckland.

The spillage happened just after 1pm on the Kaipara Coast highway, 4km north of Helensville.

I'm guessing not many people are heading out there this evening - but if you are - take care.

It most certainly will, I think there is all of 5 interesting corners in the 17km from Kaukapakapa to H'ville - more of a detour than a good beginning for a ride North!

Was a bad day on Rodney District roads today.

SH1 closed and diversions in place after a fatal at Puhoi. Everyone off at Silverdale and detour through Woodcocks. Then the truck at Helensville which didnt report as a fatal.
