Anyone here know the basics of bike inspection in the christchurch area?

I'm planning an epic adventure and this is a suitably unsuitable bike - I just need to know what bits to take with me to ensure it will survive the trip.

I need the brakes, gearbox, clutch, bearings, bushings, chassis, motor and lights to all be in a known state before I bid anything - so if you know how to examine a two stroke and/or chassis I'll shout you a box of beer when I finally get down there to pick it up:yes:

PirateJafa is also keen to be coming on this trip - might pay to look at this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=215771524)too

can't be giving him too much power ;)

As I'm selling my old bike and my new bike is a bit big for doing my full license on, I'm getting a loan bike that looks almost just like that to do my test on!

i love how he asked if you were being funny, i would have too. he probably thinks you are a massive noob setting yourself up for disaster. so what exactly do you want the bike for? just for the sake of the trip?

Bah, should take us three, maybe four days.

Team SMC, fueled by beer.

How long do you need it to be held for? I've got a space in my garage for at least a week - and most likely a couple.

We're both broke. So the longer we're away, the more we'll spend on beer until suddenly we'll have to push the bikes the last 500k home.

GUTTED!

I didn't get home in time for the auction end! arrrghh!

CAN ANYONE LOOK AT TWO BIKES (at one address) IN CHRISTCHURCH TODAY?

Any assistance would be much appreciated by these two lowly Aucklandites!

Please throw a text my way on 021 --- ---- and I will reply with details!

Hope it's another A100. Those are wicked bikes to ride.

Don't be silly.

That's far too much power for a cripple like me to handle.

right, so I got home about 30 seconds too late to bid on the a100

then, talking to jafa, concoct an awesome plan to pick up a honda in nelson - only to find the listing closed 5 minutes prior :(

some google cache and KB member searches later, we await a reply :D

Well - pending a test-ride - it looks like I've got my bike. Pity that since we initially came up with this plan, Andrew's just been all talk. He's going to love walking.;)
