I have been with eBikeinsurance for 2 years now. They accepted my previous noclaims bonus and seem to be the best in price around. However I was just wondering, has anyone ever actaually made a claim and had it paid?
I like what I am hearing about Kiwibike and may consider changing.

Dont know personally but ebike worries me
If you try to make a claim and they deny it what are you going to do
They have no office here in NZ (I asked them)
I have heard third hand that there have been claim difficulties
I found getting quotes from the main companies then get Kiwibike to see if they can beat them worked for me

I've just done a big search around for insurance on my new bike - I had a few issues due to my oopsie a few weeks ago - and anyhoo, everytime I went to get an online quote it said they don't exist anymore??? My internet may just be playing with me though???

I keep getting phone calls and emails about my renewal with them. They say it is great news that the renewal is cheaper than last year and asking me to confirm before the price increases. Sounds quite desperate so I'll I've desided yo give it a wide berth.

I'm not totally sure about this, but because it's an offshore company and something goes wrong are they bound by NZ laws.

Made a claim two years ago, had only just changed to them a week earlier. Bike was written off and they paid out full amount with no issues within three weeks. Dealt with a woman in Sydney, all good.

Having read all the dodgy rating stuff about eBikeinsurance, I have just moved to NAC.
They seem like a much better outfit to deal with and acutually do as they say. Quote was heaps cheaper too.

To be able to sell insurance in NZ it has to be unwritten by a registered bonded under-writer. This is the law. Ask them who the underwriter is. The Ministry of Economic Development have a listed of these underwriters on their web site.
Otherwise you have very little recourse should something go wrong.
