no not for me although I acknowledge they're great bikes :calm:

I've a pal who is looking to buy a tidy to nice condition DRZ400 that is road legal.

You got one or know someone with one to sell - then send me a PM - nice to think a machine with a known history might come from within the KB ADV community - Carpe Diem S :2thumbsup

methinks I'd have no trouble recommending your DRZ Mark - ridden only by a little old lady to church on sunday - yeh right - no seriously i think it's a 'goodie' from what i've seen - certainly provide you huge grin factor eh - would you be willing to check any out that may appear in the waikato near you? cheers S

man, he just missed a mint k6 low k's in the Hutt a few weeks back - sat there for ages. Also another one in Chch that had an 18L acerbis tank...all about timing!

There's an XR400 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Dirt-bikes/auction-217161382.htm) that may be registerable.

My advice would be to go 2003 onwards and he'd be looking around high $4k to mid $5k for an average one and around $6k on for one in almost new nick.

Thanks Aslan.

I do not mind giving details of my 400 in public at this stage. Feel free to PM me though if needed.

I bought the bike new in 2005 when the DR-Z400SM first made its appearance on these shores. It was indeed yellow in colour and remained as such for many years. It was turned into a black bike on a whim, mainly brought on by the black Clarke 16L tank I bought for it late last year. (now has a fuel range of up to 435km)
The bike has all the original plastics, headlight and mint 10.5L steel tank.
It has 18" and 21" wheels shod with Kenda dual purpose tyres with plenty of life left. It has a robust custom made stainless steel rear carrier system which can be used flat, or converted into a vertical bar pack-rack in minutes.
It has Barkbusters and internally heated handlebars, assorted windscreens and a chain oiling system.
The bike has covered 40,000 km without a breakdown of any description.
It has had oil and filter changes by the book, every 6,000km.
It recently had ONE tappet adjusted and a new sparkplug !

It is a wonderful bike and a tough little bike, as been witnessed on occasion !!
...and it is "two bikes in one"
I probably could not bear to part with it for much below $6500.

Cheers
