hello everybody, this is ben from Auckland, I'm from China, i used to ride honda CB250, but never did on highway before, I came to NZ 9 years ago, now everything getting settle down, wish to do something i like to do.. riding bike.

I got a liitle scooter,(it's been put on trade me:http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=214650913) that's just before i take my bike license, now, i've got my license already, hunting for a 250cc bike, have been look at few bandit and zeal, i really like bandit and zeal.

Now, finally have to make a choice between a 1999 bandit, 13000+km, this one has been kept inside the garage for about 1 month, couldn't even get started, also the tank has been repainted, also the strange thing is the location where the petrol tab(the hole where you put the petrol in) is not right in the middle of the tank, it's more close to the right side, that's worry me alot, might something seriously happend before on the tank, or it might be replaced with different module of the tank. the rest part of this bandit is ok, it's asking for 4200, another one is 1991 yamaha zeal, just over 20000k, this owner must be a bike master, he fix the bike by himself, put some extra parts on to the bike to protecting the bike, he tought me alot of knowleadge about bike, the zeal has been well maintanented by this seller, which i feel confident to buy this zeal, now the question here is, i don't know if the bandit is in good condition or not, it has less k, and newer, looks better, but the zeal is more relaiable because of the seller is more experienced on bike, so could you guys give me some help ?? thanks so much...

ditto the welcome.

do a little research on the bandit... i dont know jack about them, but i do know some bikes have the petrol filler off center... most harleys are like that as they have instrument panels down the center of the tank. i think my little virago is the same. doesnt affect the bike at all.

honestly, go the zeal, as the seller sounds a lot more reputable and chances are the bike is in better condition. if unsure, you might have to pay to get them both checked out by a mechanic.

Ni hao! Welcome to the site, only considering Bandit and Zeal? Not a lil'ol'hornet as well? :msn-wink: Good on ya for finally considering getting on two wheels of freedoom.

All good bikes, if you need a hand to take a look over some prospective ones, just let me know!
