Budget Rentals have a pretty good range of hire trucks, including some under 3.5 ton which can be driven on a car licence

If you can't get mates rates, have a look at: Matamata Furniture Movers, 07-888 4413. When we sold our house in Tokoroa last year and shifted to Coromandel, they were the cheapest by a country mile compared with the big boys (like nearly half the cost). Everything well-packed and delivered exactly when they said they'd be there. I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle of doing it myself as we had so much stuff to move.

CCR. Cross Country Rentals used to have good rates.
Also check with the secure storage company on Maui St. They have 1/2doz trucks there also. Can't think of anyone with a truck with a tail lift thats privately owned. Tail lift is a priority.MHO
