I tried it a couple of times and it seemed ok for doing the anti-fog thing but then it did'nt work so well. How often do you need to re-apply or...shall I just go for a pin-lock in my Shoei XR1000 ?

Pinlock is better. I don't have that option with my particular brand of helmet so I went with FOGCITY. Love it, brilliant stuff. Not one bit of misting/fogging inside the helmet since applying it.....

It's soul destroying to flick your visor up and watch $70 blow away.
So you take into the shop and ask one of the parts guys to put one in for you, cos he recommended it, and then that one blows away 2 days later.
72, hours $140. 1 lost Fog City customer for ever.

Catcrap is a marked improvment over using nothing, I use CC and a soft earplug held in place with a bit of bluetack to keep the bottom of the visor open a few mm when its really bad.
Shopping for a new helmet and intend to look for a double glazed type visor at same time.
(problem with cat crap is any traces of kitty litter scratch the visor)

Bullshit...it's not expensive.....I am as sure as a bear deposits in the woods, didn't pay $70.00 for it.... What if you don't have a visor that has pinlock...???

1. Mine is still in and on the visor in one piece after nearly 2 months. And fuck me IT WORKS...!!!!
2. Does not need someone in the shop to install it. If you can read and follow directions it's perfectly doable by the average joe steven or even paul....And step number 5 in the instructions list says...."Apply firm pressure to adhesive..FOR BEST RESULTS ALLOW 24 hours before reinstalling visor.".... Same as for most kinds of adhesive. Can't really expect it to stick after 2 seconds now can ya. Some people are used to such a short time delay so perhaps it's not such a difference to some.....:)

Cat Crap doesn't work ....
I find the same - used Cat Crap once and it was useless. I have heard that the makers of Rain-X have a product (Fog-X ??) that works well on visors although I would test a small peripheral portion of the visor first to see that it does not harm the plastic.

Installed on clear visor which I didn't use for two weeks. No rain you see.
Second time, bought new visor because fog city adhesive had left visble mark on previous visor that I was unable to remove. Took helmet to shop. Watched parts guy install on new visor on helmet to make sure that the Fog City insert cleared seals and stuff to make sure that wasn't peeling them off when I opened the visor.. Took visor off and left at shop to pick up the next day. I can read. They don't work.
I have the receipts for them. They were $70 ea.

I don't understand why you're being such an arse?
I bought the light sensitve one. They did't stick to my visor. The only anti fog solution I've used that's been 100% effective and totally reliable is the Pinlock system I had on my Nolan 101 for 2 years. Most top end helmets have pinlock solutions now, and HJC have released one for my helmet which I'm tempted to buy, but I won't be spending money on Fog City products ever again.
It's good that you've had a positive experience with it, but I won't be going there aagin.

You bought it and it didn't work for you, for whatever the reasons. You also stated it's expensive. NOT..!!!! You bought it for $70.00, why I'd have no fucken clue as it available for a shit load less.
I bought it and it works. On both my tinted and clear visor. Others may have had similar to you. Others will have similar experiences to me.
And stop the clock was wondering how long it would take before you stomped up and down and resorted to saying people are being "arses" when they offer a varying opinion to yourself.
I'd buy Fog city again before using cat crap or similar, as I DON'T HAVE A F>>>>N PINLOCK VISOR, for the third freakin time. It's an option for those that don't

I've got a Shoei helmet as well. After talking to lots of people I've decided to invest in a pinlock. Went and bought one today.
Now I just have to wait a couple of days, and I'll be doing an early morning ride to give it a good test.

I've heard that pinlocks are the shizz, but i've also heard that they have a small border around them, and i was concerned that might narrow my vision a tad.

It's not really a border as such, just the silicone seal that seals against the visor, it's clear silicone but very slightly noticeable. You only notice it (a little) when you first put it on, after that it's like it's not even there.
Some people use tinted ones on clear visors which I would imagine causes a bit more of a distraction, I just use a clear one on each of my different visors so no worries.
I've heard that pinlocks are the shizz, but i've also heard that they have a small border around them, and i was concerned that might narrow my vision a tad.
I found the edge of the pinlock was in my pereferal vision and was a bother/distraction to me...
