I am tempted, especially after the last round but I spent a day at Taupo track yesterday and then me and M are going back too Taupo to race on Saturday... Anyone have a money tree?? I think I should take up knitting.
Anyway, I do not plan to be out of bed by 8.30am. Will come watch though...

I saw my OUR other favourite man the other night. He laughed hysterically when after one particularly good adjustment I couldn't help but exclaim rather loud and enthusiastically OOOO YEAH that's the stuff! I feel soo much better than I did last week! He really is a god that man

I have lost count of the number of all nighters I have pulled lately to try and get my bucket finished to a race standard. Just need to finish off some lathing and then I should be sorted. I still doubt I will make it though which pisses me off.

Seeing as Mark has lost his keys to his bucket I might only have one on the ute, if you get stuck holler and I should be able to swing by and get you + bike :)

Thanks Jono, I'm busy building a hanger for my rear caliper which is proving to be a lot more difficult than first expected. I'll give you a yell later. :)
EDIT - Don't have enough materials to finish the hanger so will have to opt out unfort :(.
Prob come out though to have a looksie.

Well, I am still working very hard on the bucket and it is nearly done. Just a little more lathing to go! I won't be able to make it to buckets today. I just got home from town, and I am sorry to say that the weather is HORRIBLE!!! Windy as hell and wet. Not that cold though. But good luck to all you brave bucketeers! Wish I was out there, even in this crap.

CRAP is the word for it.
Guys, tie your bikes tight on your utes/trailers whatever... @6am it is Northerly 69kmph gusting 100kmph.
Rachel has openly questioned my sanity when my alarm went off this morning.
Me, I don't have to question it... I know the answer already :stupid::bleh:

I turned up to watch and everyone was gone except for 3 keen riders!
Awesome riding by Andrew, Richard and Adrian on a semi wet track and then for the next race it was dry!! Man I wish I could've been out there but it was still cool to at least watch. Especially watch a few crashes aye guys? Glad they weren't too painful, but they were certainly funny! Nice to know I am not the only bloody one that eats the tarmac.

I hope to make the next round. A bit of a disastrous trip back from Taupo for us. Spent part of the night on the desert road and the rest in Wairoru. We're home but the vans still in Wairoru. Might be expensive...

I really enjoyed today. It did not rain once when we were on the track and before lunch the track was completely dry. Ended up doing 5 race's with the last one a 15 or 16 laper. Both Andrew and I did a good job of ploughing the grass at high speed no damage to bikes or riders. Gotta love that nice and soft grass. Would have been good to see more people out.
I have some footage of the day I will post when I get a mo.
finaly made it to a meet for a nosey, didn't have a lot of time so the only full race i got to see was the 1 after lunch, made me want to get in there even more, looked like you guys were having a ball

Does anyone know if motards be a part of the kaitoke rounds in the future?
nudemetalz
20th May 2009, 10:00
They used to be but the numbers dwindled right down.
I guess we could do a class at the next buckets-only day but would have to have sufficient numbers (ie more than 1 !!) to make it work.

What about the slipway, is it the same story there? Dont want to bring it down in june and find out theres none there!
Have you been able to get back on the palmy kart track?
nudemetalz
20th May 2009, 10:25
Same basically for both Kaitoke and Slipway. We did run a couple of motards recently but that's an exception than the norm. Best if you PM me before the next event and I can find out if any others will attend.
Palmy track is out of our area, we're only on the 2.

Erm Dude, I think Motards is one of the reasons we fell foul of the local Kart guys when Bayden was running it. I think (not 100%) that they weren't cleared for it & he assumed it was ok & the Kart guys said Hey 100cc bikes ok but large powerful heavier bikes with more sharp edges; you didn't ask for that & we're not happy. So I could be wrong but tread carefully. Is a pity they stopped coming to slipway, always a hoot to watch.

It was good to go up against #76 and the other Grade A bikes to compare the difference. I'd love to know Skunk's secret to his engine given the amount of power he gets out of his bucket of brilliance.

Id turn up on a motard, if someone wants to organise it.
I have kind-of better tyres for it now. Currently on the DRZ400.
Gutted im not ready in time... But good things take time, rather do a okay job (awesome job for me!) than not such a good one.
