Hi Boys and Girls, Cold Kiwi is on again 4-6 Sep. As per last year, I'll be leaving from Shell Westgate at 0900 Friday, then will stop by the Auto Bahn for a 0950 departure to the rally site. If it's fine, we'll go round the mountains & set up tents in daylight.

I'll chuck something up on the calendar closer to the day. Go nuts.:wari:

One for the boys.... ur a funny gurl Lula, I'll be there this year. Riding down of cause. Never done this before, and keen to freeze my arse off and become part of NZ biker history... A few of the gang will be along as well so well all just meet up at Shell.:apint:

I'll bring an additional rear to light up ;)

I'll check with the crew at CycleTreads and see if they will be there selling tyres then you won't have to bother taking your own. Yaahhhooo pop!

I love doing burn-outs! One of my favourite things I do.

Ah I've got mates going down in a Van. I'll use one of my old trackday tires. They cook the sides before the center so be good for burning out.:headbang:

Me thinks an investment in heated clothing may be the way and perhaps some of the liquid kind too...

Toto, I pretty much had all I needed on the Friday night except for a super hot biker chick to help keep me warm.......I fact, I probably had too much Bourbon, which made me fall over on to my tent and lose things like my hip flask and my torch.

I wonder if I should get heated grips? Mind you my hands haven't been feeling cold this winter so apart from the Cold Kiwi I don't generally need them.

What sort of speed are you guys going to be riding down at? I usually try to keep under 110kph to save on fines & demerit points.

The Cycletreads promo thing is Thurs 3 Sep. Speeds on main roads no more than the speed limit tolerance, plenty of back roads tho I'm bearing in mind that there will be lots of enforcement officers around.

Will have planned stops at Te Awamutu (gas) Kihikihi (pies) Tokoaanu (more gas) the the Site. We will regroup at the major intersections so no one gets lost.

yeah, but then i would have an even harder decision with 3 to choose from.

bmw is slower, will struggle to keep up. and it will cost more, but i will probably bring it.

depends a bit on how much work i get in the next week

also, would have to change my sexual preferences to get a honda

be good to see you 2 down there, it is a good weekend, great atmosphere and a bloody good laugh. the bummer is the best bits are usually on sat morning, if you turn up sat arvo you will see a burnout comp ( mmmmmmmmm ) some fireworks, a bonfire and a band, and of course drunk people.
Sunday people just get up, eat and bail.

Just opening the packaging on my Kathmandu thermals (2 for 1 special) and digging out my polyprop socks - I'll go with 2 layers of socks, cause I F'n hate cold feet. Hopefully my sleeping bag is warm enough (it was fine on the Cold Duck rally).

I'll probably feel too warm in the morning, but should be fine while riding and hopefully warm enough at the rally.
