Maaaaate, you have got to seriously address your priorities! I'll take a gentle cruise around the track with a dopey grin plastered on my face over a cranky thrash any day.....but seeing as we rarely race on my birthday the odds are 364/1 that it'll be the latter.

It depends how important to me the meeting is. if its a thrash around then not really nervous at all. Last round of a series-nerves like bloody violin strings -peeing every 5 minutes

Im more into the fun side of racing so try not to take it seriously but i would be lying if i said i didnt want to be competitive,so in that respect i dont really get nervous the night before etc.
However rolling thru the paddock gate in the morning and hello...wots that knot in my stomach for haha.
But its a good thing if you use it right i reckon.
By that i mean if you start feeling or getting nervous just think of the things you wan't to concentrate on...could be anything like a particular corner that you never get right and maybe go thru some scenarios you want to try different or brake markers/lines anything like that. Its all good and subconsciously its preparing you for the battle ahead and taking ya mind off of your nervousness.
Use it coz its all part of the fun.

Shit you can loose your edge in just one and a half minutes?:shit:
Nervous?..................a little each race, more of a lets just get going anxiety type though. Normally sleep ok when I'm in my own bed.
My worst thing on raceday is not eating, gotta fuel the body.
Once ya get on your bike everything seems to come good though.

Nerves are good. They show you are taking it seriously and that it is important to you.
Keep the non-alcoholic fluid levels up and I wish you good luck!

I dont get nervous about racing, but I do get nervous about how far I can push my limits while I'm putting on the freak show..... If it goes pear shape while I'm 3 wheel drifting, or 2 wheel drifting with the sidewheel high up in the air, with the rear smoking up, then I'm thinking about nerves for sure.
But racing nerves? No.

The night before? The Vision of the chequred flag and no one in front of me
Nerves
Not sure if you would call it nervous, or just pumped with Adrenilan?
I use the Nerves/adrenilan with my breathing technique to work in my favour
Breath in your mouth and out your nose, whilst doing this, CONCENTRATE on the oxeygyn travelling around your body and try to picture it as completeing a circle, your Nervous level will rise, and try to add it into your focus/concentration account in your head:headbang:
It worked for me, but may not for others
If you have practised and tested, there realy is nothing to be nervous about, you already no where you are going, and how you think your bike is handling, so just continue to hit your reference points on the track, and all should be a ok!

Like Scrivy I dont get race nerves really... however I do make sure I have a good feed and nights rest before I head to the track.
And re loosing your edge with a root? Nah, I see it as the opposite, a good root and Im in the zone.

Ha, and you are lighter, gotta be good
Myne arnt nerves as in being scared I think like others have said its Adrenaline.
My normal practice is sit at home alone or go for a walk have my ipod on listeing to the same song one that gets me in the zone and just think about the circuit and what not ride the circuit in my head remember were the bumps are etc.
Then have ahard time trying to sleep as im so eager to ride get up on race day try and have a feed in the morning as I know during the day I dont eat just drink lots of water or powerade

Night before meeting..very little sleep unless I get pissed.
Nerves before a race..yep. Probably the worst on the F3 grid to be honest. Bogs every 5 minutes and hyperventalating on the grid.

Depended on the event and how I was placed in the championship. A low key event I call it anticipation rather than nerves but for an important race, couldn't hold a conversation that made any sense, used to sit in my truck going over the race plan in my head, check the bike over and over again, go to the toilet at the last possible moment and produce nothing! then when on the formation lap be busting for a pee........WTF is that all about.......nerves eh!

Previous night nerves - oh yes.
Start line nerves - nope.
Not really - although once I couldn't find my helmet until someone pointed out it was already on ...

As a 20 yr old I was a bag of nerves, no sleep etc. But once the flag dropped it was all gone.
Not many current racers would have experienced push starts, that was even more stressful. That total silence just before the first engine fired, was something else.
As you get to my age (60) it all becomes so relaxed, ok, lined up, flag drops, off we go !!! Heart rate hardly over 80. Gaz.

No race day nerves for me, although I know two people I raced with and there race day ritual included a nervous chunder in the morning
I actually get pretty lethargic and sleepy while we're waiting on the dummy grid

I'd be more nervous about getting waxed than racing! Hot wax on those delicate bits...then ripped off? No thanks. Eyes are watering just thinking about it.
Having only ever raced at Taupo(and Paeroa once) Im fine the night before but driving up out of the pine trees on Broadlands Road I get that knot in my tummy... then it's straight to the toilet as soon as Im at the track.
Paeroa was different tho. Was more nervous at sign on and scrutineering than the racing. Once on the track I get so focused the nerves are gone.

I remembered yesterday just how stressed I get on the dummy grid. I espicially hate when someone crashes and we're all stuck there for ages. Usually have to cut engine and take skid lid off to breathe.
Waxing. I'm sure all the top riders do it to save a few gramms. Chopper's new sprog probably has a hairier back than him.
