I've told a couple of others too, but they've got standard bikes, so it might be a bit pointless.

Nah, I'm picking up the stripped bits from the chrome platers tomorrow (don't panic, they're only taking the old crap chrome off! ) then I've still got to get the powder coating done...after that it's a few minutes spanner work to put it together and playing with the carb...

Im sure it is, but apparently different dynos read differently - a guy in Oz on the FZ6 site, with exactly the same mods and tuning got 95hp...
ICE180
3rd June 2009, 19:52
have you just bolted on the bits or have you had it tuned as well ????
But then again the ozzy tend to extend the truth alot like dragon split enz etc
the cars that I have had always get a dyno tune that way you know what is going on as well as how much actual power you really have

$50 is still pretty expensive, is that with any tuning?
I had mine do a run for free when my front end was being blinged.
ICE180
18th June 2009, 17:38
normal cost is $135 +gst per hour during there normal working hours
the time we have is when they are normally shut so its not too expensive
we can see if tuning is possible on the day

How do those numbers equate to ability to muck around with the jetting - I'm not sure at the moment that I'll even be close enough to ride it over there at the moment. It will depend on how much time the boys give me to play around with it this weekend!

Might be worth picking one of these (http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/powercommander_iii_usb.aspx?mk=13&mdl=98&yr=2007) so that Mr Dyno can do something about your fuelling if it's out.

i wonder how powerful you could get a 50cc scooter (fully engineered with lots of go fast bits) would be interesting

How much cheaper? The PC3s are only $470 delivered from Oz..

Thats pretty cheap. I was going on latest NZ pricing. I used to get them ex USA when our dollar was better and split the savings with the customer, but now they are over $400 NZ I end up paying gst so advise people to buy their own if they want to save $$. Less hassle for me, had 2 power commanders go tits up in the last year and customers had to sort it out with supplier. No problem with replacements, just time consuming and a few dollars for freight.
Anyway Teka Tuner we charge $50 plus $240 dyno time. $290 all up. (TPS adjustment extra)
Same goes for any fuel-injected Suzuki (not the RMs) and Cagiva with Suzuki engines.
The teka tuner plugs into the ECU and enables us to adjust the factory maps. The same deal as the factory tool.
We can also "tweak" the maps without the dyno time if you know what you need.
cheers

That's not bad.. I'm tempted to go for one of the Motty boxes when they're plug and play. They're close to a grand.. but no fannying about when I change the cam too. :)
Still... $290 isn't bad :)

When my 185 needed doing, it was in a box still, as he'd moved.
I'd have a look myself, but there's heaps downloading and my internet is slower than a tortoise.
He did Matt C's bike and possibly Ryan's I think.
