I'm travelling Northward at Easter.
I have been freed from the ankle biters and WT has taken on the commitment of any KBer who were going to stay at Slipstream's Inn :D
All the people who have stayed at Slipstreams Inn had better have a cuppa tea or a beer waiting ;)
And all those others, better decide a place to meet up. Unfortunately I'll be in a cage so no rides huh...unless some brave soul wants to take me pillion. :yeah:
(I like R1's :D)
Now come on people who's up for it...we don't all have to meet up at once, I have all weekend :D
Someone suggest a place both in Hamilton and Auckland and anyone who can't make it then can PM me their address and I'll come visit.
I wanna see how you guys par-tay :D

Bastard! I'm heading to Wellywood (via Taihape and New Plymouth) that weekend...!
No matter... we'll catch up next time.
Of note - the Old Albany Inn is good - especially good Thursday nights 5:30 - 7:30.... with the waitresses doing their "top not required" routine...
...not that I've ever been there of course, or advocate such... but if we happened to arrange a drive by one Thursday night it might work...

Good news is I'm not in Wellywood till April - am home during Easter. If there is a get together happening I EXPECT A PM (hint hint).
Cheers guys and gals.

What is with all of you Aucklanders? A couple of ladies from our Country's Capital, not just any ladies, but the one and only Slipstream, 1 of THE top 10 reputable members of our community and the infamous N C 30 CHICK will be granting us the privilege of their gracious presence.
And none of you have replied to this??? I am SHOCKED, I must say!
It is still not too late. Show your interest and post up some ideas for a place to gather together. Let us show these lovely ladies how it's done, up here on this side of the Island.

It's a good point... a very VERY good point...
Problem is we don't what part of town they'll be in. I'd suggest the old Albany Inn (good pub that), huge courtyard outside, plenty of refeshments inside...
Loaded Hog downtown if you wanted, Horse and Trap on Mt Eden Rd.
How about a meal at Tony's Steak House in town? Feed, a few drinks then carry on?
There ya go - I'd be in for any/all of those...

Doesn't matter where we will be based. What matters is where we are going to part-tay :D
I suggest somewhere in Auckland. Someones place or NC30's favourite party place. Or both :D
So either someone volunteer their place as a KBer party place or NC30 speak up and let us all know where we are going.
Worst comes to worst we could all meet up in the middle of the harbour bridge :p

As it is Easter, a lot of places will not be serving/selling alcohol. That is why I propose someones place. (Cheaper too)
So. I'm gonna say the top of (Not)One Tree Hill, with a bottle of Jack and some coke. Maybe even a bag of ice. Sometime on Saturday or Sunday.
I'm also thinking Victoria Park Markets .... (I'm running out of places I know here) Sky Tower Casino...

The Auckland CC have closed off None Tree Hill at night time after 7pm....
Reason: Because of the local hoons hooning around up there and causing trouble. (Teenagers)
I found this out a year ago, when I went to take someone up there.
Mt Eden Hill is still open, but when I went up there (a year ago).... the young ones were up there boozing and then flying up and down the hill in their cars.... and hanging out there till they got the txt to say where the party was happening at.... wasnt pleasant up there at the time.
So maybe at someones place... may be the best idea....

But I'm not gunna be here,I'll either be working on the house in Huntly (like I was this weekend) or checking out a bike in Levin - some members of my family seem to think buying another bike while renovating a house is not responsible behaviour, but hey, what came first....my bikes or a house.

Day time... good... Easter weekend good... lack of confirmed place to drnik... bad...
bad bad bad....
Need somewhere with parking for bikes, open on saturday, sells booze...
that's most of the pubs in town dammit - and here we are back at the original problem.....
OK... if we want scenery and good company (and the weather is ok... remember this IS Easter we're talking about)... how bout the bbqs at Corwall Park. Come in off Greenlane Road, down the avenue de trees (like that little bit of French there...?!?)
... ahem... when you get to the roundabout you will be around 150m from the bbqs... slightly to the left, ahead of you. Not sure how to get to them but you go left... ish... just after the roundabout and weedle your way there ("weedle" a technical twerm meaning make it up as you go along coz I'm incapable of adequatley describing it...).
OR... if it's raining... and it IS EASTER so It WILL BE RAINING... I suggest the Muddy Farmer on Wyndham Street. GREAT pub, food drinking and little music... all Irish atmosphere and plenty of parking if needed in the Wilson's carpark next door, or down th street or... you get the idea.
For those that need to know It's under the Heritage Hotel, which was the old Farmers building. Find the Casino (the one with the huge willie sticking 200m up into the air... aka the Sky Tower) and it's about a 2 min ride from there.
Without reading back through all the messages... Saturday Midday work for every one - just for 2 or 3 hours?

I beleive you are mistaken, take this from someone who lived a block away and regularly cycled or walked through at various times (i.e. me!). Which entrance did you try to use? *Cornwall Park* is closed at 7pm-7am, and has been like that for a long time. If you use the Manukau Rd entrance where the observatory is, you can still drive up to the peak of One Tree Hill.

Why?
It's central, there should be heaps of bike parks, there's a park across the road if it's sunny, we can always move somewhere else and cos I know how to get there.
There are pubs for 'a' drink ... maybe ... around there too.

ok a quick update... slipstream and co have reached Hamilton at 12.30am Friday morning..... after a what I would say was a slowish trip up.
Slipstream txted me every so often as to there whereabouts....lol.
With buggar all visability in certain parts and heavy traffic and the pissing down rain.... it would not have been a too pleasant trip up... but they arrived in one piece.
I will update when I hear from her with the exact time for the meeting on Saturday at the Bird Cage. But it will be around lunchtime...... :ride:
