Depends if he is trained for it, And if he will do the riding of his own accord.

Trained her own cat to ride in the trucks she drove.

Our cat, 'Dog', used to go to the vet in his cage, resting on my knee (pillion). He loved the breeze in his face. The harley noise didn't bother him. He used to walk to the milkbar with ya too.

Someone already beat me to it...but my immediate thought was of Rastus. When Max wasn't riding around on his Sunbeam he was driving a transporter...and Rastus was always in the truck with him. Bless.

I had a cat that used to think she was a dog. She would follow me and the dogs down thru the bush and onto the beach (behind the property where I used to live) and would also follow us up the road. Even though she didn't like the cars going past she was still determined to come for a walk.

I would suggest getting the kitten used to the bike slowly and then let things progress naturally.

Good Luck!

Use top bungy the cat cage on the back of my RG150  wahoo!

One cat I think really enjoyed it the other not so much - lots of loud caterwauling. That one is the one that likes to go for a walk with me and the dog though and is not afraid of traffic - parking up in the middle of our culdesac and when cars come he won't move! Sits there loooking like he is thinking 'Go around Human!'

Sometimes you just have to do it whether or not the cat likes it - so keep them contained in a good cage and well secured to the bike and you can't do too much damage...unless of course you drop the bike :pinch:

What about at traffic lights and stop signs etc? Wont the cat jump off thinking it's arrived at whatever destination? (squish)

There was a gentleman who rode around christchurch for many years with his cat sitting on the fuel tank.
It had its own helmet.
Im sure some CHCH people can expand on this info.
I know of a rider that has a Lorrikette parrot that rides with him in his top pocket.
There is a Jack Russel that sits on the back of a Harley,
So a cat would not be out of place

I think Rastus was a one-off - or at least one of not many cats who would enjoy being on a bike. Cats have very sensitive hearing so I don't think it would be that pleasant to be on some bikes and they don't like being confined (in a jacket/harness, etc) so they'd want to jump off. And what happens when you get to where you are going - most cats would take off. I've seen cats wandering free inside cars before and most seem really freaked out. The windows can't be left open much and they always seem to be crying.

Leave the cat at home, it would probably prefer chasing mice and sleeping to riding the highways!

I knew a woman who used to ride with her poodle in a tank bag. She had an off one day and the dog was almost killed, vet bills were in the thousands. :(

Better to get a cat sitter and leave her home - our cats HATE being put in their cat cages to go to the vet (the only time they go in them) and most cats would be the same. It would be quite cold and windy on the back in a box or cage, and cats are not the same as dogs - they don't really enjoy 'going away for the weekend' - so leave her at home to do what cats and kittens do best, sleep all day!

My dog is smaller than my cat and has her own helmet and seat that fits to the tank and comes with me just about everywhere. She loves it!

Good plan.

Then on a group ride there is no pressure to perform - you are riding like a pussy.

Plus it's good to take your pussy different places - they enjoy it outdoors.

The only problem could be with your tyres - cats like to chase chickens.
