Bit tricky I don't know the name of the road as it's still closed. But it's the 'new road', off the new roundabout SH1 Ramarama exit.

Neither did I to start with, but the clue that it hadn't moved too far probably counted the moon out (also it's not in Auckland so that would be against the rules [emoji6]). I can't even remember how I worked this one out, but I was pretty stoked to find one in an area I didn't even know existed.

I started to look further south and didn't have any luck, never thought of north of the Drury interchange area. It's within the Auckland Council area so I guess we can say it's in Auckland.

I went past the area just a wee while ago and they had closed access to this spot as they were re-doing the seal on the street. I imagine it reopens tomorow, given its a weekend and people live on the street...and cricket. It may be open once they're done in a few hours, but it will be a fresh sticky seal. I can check tomorrow morning and let you know the status :)

The whole park has had a revamp. Amazing how a new seal, a speedbump and some fresh painted lines have turned it into a real carpark, not just a drive-thru meth-exchange spot. Lights, bins and benches have made the whole place way less rapey. I've been assaulted at this park more than once, but since they installed the lights the whole demographic of users has shifted and it's a great place to walk a dog and chill...or practice figure-8s and circles! The clubhouse also looks sweeeet with that paint job :)

well, at 3pm I will be leaving the Botanical Gardens in Manurewa.

I'm going to go and find the Auckland Tagorama Tag.
Can't see any reason why this can't be accomplished with any number of riders,gives us a chance to get together and put names to faces and enjoy a bit of a ride around the city.
A good day for that I reckon as most have left it!

So, to get there. Heading South from Ak City on the Southern Motorway.
Get off at Hill Rd (Exit 451).
Turn Left, then the first Left into the Botanical Gardens.

I will be there as close to the main building entrance as I can be. Red, white and Blue Nonda Africa Twin.
Fluro Yella Helmet.

Will leave at 3 pm sharp.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

Oh, I know where it is, alright!
Yeah, no reason why a bunch of us can't go to find the Tag, then the finder can go off and plant it while the rest enjoy a quiet pootle together.
Results so far not 100%, but hey it's early days, lets seeif it takes off.

I too spotted the NZ Steel chimneys. But finding the actual photo location was a lot more difficult. A long time planning around Google Maps. Fortunately I had a site visit to NZS yesterday, so it wasn't too much of a detour to go and pick this up.

Same :) I've also been limited by my own riding ability/experience too. Until today I hadn't gone any further on the motorway than one exit (merge on, get off at next exit). This was a great tag to get me on the motorway and staying on it!...and I did it! What's more, I fuuuucking loooooved it. So much. I WANT MORE.

Next step: get restricted licence so I don't have to consider that dorky L-plate in my photo angles.

And don't worry about the L plate. We've pretty much all had one at one time or another.

At least you're allowed to go over 70 km/h these days. That made riding on the motorway quite an adventure back in the day.

Some learners even bought things like CB360s,XS400, RD400s and put 250 side covers on them.

It took me a while to work this one out. Initially I was working on the wrong volcano. Then i worked out which one it was, but the angle was troubling. I visited one potential location before I worked out how far off I was. Just haven't had the time to get over to the correct location yet.

Nice spot, but the view of Ambury Farm Park from further along by the cemetery was spectacular - mainly for how dry it is!

One of the memories of childhood, going 'out west' to the orchards for apples and peaches that were stewed and preserved for winter 'puddings'... a case of 'cooking apples', either Granny Smith or Gravenstein, half case of Golden Queens... :drool:

Moi is right, it IS a Cemetery, one of Auckland's newest.
Come on you lot, google is your friend. New, south of Whangaparaoa, got some ponds an Ducks and a big road what goes right around all of the different year and service sites.Truly not that hard to find.

It's a large sports ground on the Shore, according to the map it's in the Forrest Hill area though closer to Castor Bay and Campbell Bay...

I know where it is, but getting there has been a wee challenge.

Great coffee and very nice people. My weekend getaway cafe. Millars coffee on tap. I ride down to Raglan to but it for the machine at home.
I told the girl in the Raglan shop I came especially down just to buy a kilo bag of beans and she thought I was nuts. She said "you know you can buy them on line".
WTF, and miss riding Highway 22 from Tuakau to Raglan. I don't think so.

Also met probably the prettiest blonde haired, blue-eyed svelte young lady and friend on their ultra-light kevlar bikes who had left Parnell earlier in the day (it was now about 10;30am) and they were cycling to Coromandel to catch the 4;00pm ferry back to Auckland. Made me feel very un-adventurous on my then 1150GS.
Then the pretty one had the audacity to ask if my bike was an 1150 BMW cause her mum had one!!!!!! an RT version it seems. Well a bloke can't be riding a grandmothers bike so I sold it and bought the 1200!

Spent a whole day fishing there with a great mate of mine, by the time our few beers had run out and we'd not gotten a single bite, we looked over the side to see a bunch of young kids running around in waist deep water, right underneath us.
Ah, well it was one of those days, didn't matter we didn't catch anything, just enjoyed the time away with a mate.
