I am not sure if it has already been posted (I searched before hand and didn't find anything), but did you guys know that there is a flight sim hidden in Google Earth?

I haven't bought a computer yet and I was a bit bored with my company laptop since I couldn't install any software. Then I cam across this! http://earth.google.com/intl/en_uk/userguide/v5/ug_flightsim.html

I find it really cool as every thing you see on the ground is same as real life + with 3D buildings turned on, it was fun to fly around Frankfurt.

P.S. You can check out Mars and the stars in the sky etc etc.. I am sure some of you may think 'And...' but maybe someothers haven't discovered GE full like I hadn't before.

Yes I do agree. I read in the news yesterday that they are having to redo their street views for Japan with a lower camera as they are invading privacy. How they find the cash for such projects is quite amazing.

Yeah it's great eh,

We use Google Earth at work all the time.

Me and the missus did play that old joke on my Dad though. We phoned him in London and told him we were looing at his house and for him to go outside and wave at the satellite.

Worked a treat

Nice post dude...

You mean the bit where they raised massive amounts of capital on the back of no apparent business plan? All they had was some cool technology that people liked using.

Yes it's massively impressive.

Google's secret is that they actually know how to run an efficient technology business. For example search brings in $0 so it must be as cost effective as possible. That's how they end up with this:

zRwPSFpLX8I

45000 servers in their first attempt at a container based datacentre.

Thanks for the heads up. You can actually navigate visually. I love this sort of shit!

Any idea how much bandwidth it gobbles up...???
