Bike on Trademe 2003 BMW R1150 GS (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=218836873)

This bike was originally registered in California and was imported to NZ and registered as a rental bike. I bought the bike at the beginning of February and have been touring New Zealand since. A change in plans due to the cost/hassle of importing the bike to Australia I am reluctantly having to sell the bike.

Below are some details of the bike.

Year of maufacture - 2003
Colour - Yellow
104,000 Kms (this will increase as Im using the bike)
Givi aftermarket screen offering better wind/weather protection
Wunderlich alloy cam sprocket covers (Original plastic ones prone to wear)
WoF until 01/2010
Rego until 24/10/2009

Good bits
Serviced 2000 Kms ago including:
Engine oil & filter change
Rear gear oil changed
Gearbox oil changed
Spark Plug check
Tappets checked & adjusted
Hi-Flo air filter clean and oil
Throttle sync adjusted
New rear Metzeler Tourance tyre
Heated hand grips with two settings
Hand guards
Tool kit
Height adjustable riders seat
2 x Givi panniers
Oxford magnetic tank bag with rain cover
Rear luggage rack

Not so good bits
Front tyre will require replacement within the next 5000 Kms
One or two stone chips in paint on beak and tank (not really noticeable)
Rubber on left hand grip has two splits, one about an inch and one half an inch, heated grip still works fine though.

All in all its a lot of bike for the money. It has been a great way to see New Zealand and if I didnt have to, I wouldnt be selling it. It will carry a lot of gear and still return good fuel economy (around 320 miles per tank-ful). Perfect for one or two up long trips but perfectly at home around town, really easy to manoeuvre. The screen, heated grips and hand guards all help to keep the worst of the weather off and keep you going whatever the weather.

Can deliver to most places in New Zealand for 50c per KM one way from either Auckland or Christchurch depending on which Island it is delivered to, contact me for a price.
