Well what a meeting it was at Taupo. With well over 200 entries and sign on going from 7.20 - 8.40, I knew that it was going to be a full on day.
I would just like to take this opportunity in Congratulating all of those riders who took part in this meeting and hope that all of you enjoyed this round especially those of you who were racing with us for the very 1st time.
I know that there were issues with the track surface and the weather which were issues on the day that were out of our control.
I look forward to receiving your entries to Round 2 at Manfeild on the 20/21 June so Please make sure you all get your entries in before the 12th June.
Cheers Sue (Race & Membership Secretary) VMCC.

It was all very well run...most impressed. Congrats to all involved. Enjoyed my day even though I was only watching. And I'm not a good spectator!

A great meeting, Very well run and great fun. A big thanks to all the people who made the days racing possible, especially the marshals that helped me off the track and made sure my bike was back in it's garage. Just a suggestion that the Vic Club should have words to the people at Taupo Motorsport park about the shocking track surface, after speaking to Brian Wood at Taupo hospital it seems that the poor surface caused his crash too. Why not just refuse to race at Taupo untill the surface is fixed, maybe Hampton Downs will be a good alternative venue by summer.
My 2 cents worth.

Mate...it'd be chaos if I was to try and help. It has on the other hand made me want to get a set of 17" rims for my 450 and join in!

About Hampton Downs, I guess we wont know until the track is finished being built and I 1st thought the track was supposed to have been finished by February of this year and yet they still haven't laid down the bitumen.

Thanks Maz,
I just like seeing all of the riders enjoy their days racing with us and hope that they all go home happy and wanting to come back for the next round. All of us at the VMCC are volunteers who are all there for the Love of Road Racing and like any club if you dont get your volunteers then events would definately not go ahead as you well know Maz.

Sue as always VMCC ran a great meeting and it flowed sooooooo well....flowed...hehehe...oh nevermind! Shed 27 had a fantastic day and can't wait for next month for the second meeting of the series! There will be some tight racing this year I have a feeling :-D. WELL DONE VMCC AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED!

That'd be chaos too mate!
Get out there - we're not too old to race, just too old to crash
Thanks to VMCC for all the hard work.
Pity about the track surface , although it certainly has `character' right now!

Skip/Duke Girl, you and all the helpers cannot be thanked enough but I know that the thanks are greatly appreciated. Thanks again to you, the office crew, the grid crew, Nigel and his awesome flaggies, the timing crew, the clerk and stewards, the Oily Raggers and everyone who does the pre-meeting administration. If there is anyone out there who would like to feel the warm glow of racer appreciation for service well done, please get in touch with the VMCC.

The bike came out of it really well, only needs a new gear selector and a bit of sanding and repainting of the bar ends and Clutch lever. Big ups for the Nakeds!. Cheers

Hey Sue, great day as always, it's the best racing around. Can't thank all the helpers enough for making it possible. Never mind the weather (even without wets) but I do wish they'd fix the track. My times are still improving (love my new bike) which just goes to show you're never too old to learn :)
