Haha, read what the pricks are saying about the SUV driver, acting like it was their fault. The dude probably thought he was gonna get a hiding from all the bikers so carried on driving!

Wow, plenty of blame to go around. The biker is obviously a dickwad, but technically the SUV should have been able to stop, if the biker had stopped for a legitimate reason.

nah 100% the bikers fault.

but the cage driver should of stopped if he wants some money for the damage to his car!

While I played Katman with a comment on that video... He was following pretty close, it's just that it was such a blind corner.

Having said that, I was recently in a big dirty Nissan SUV thing the other day, and apart from the weird feeling that was made (as if the SUV slowing caused the earth to spin faster/slower as a result.) when he almost stopped on a dime at 40k's to avoid some little Charade, they can brake pretty hard.

what a dipshit, blind corner, tshirt, jeans and sneakers, I'm actually amazed he had a helmet and gloves

Metalor
19th May 2009, 20:40
Yea well at least he had a helmet I guess... otherwise he may not have got up so quickly from that little excercise. And really, who's going to slam the brakes on going round a corner like that? "Brake on the straight before it's too late!" Could've skidded onto the otherside of the road and potentially into oncoming traffic.

My favourite is all the idiot youtube warriors' comments.

Haha hey dude! Yea, I found the old Volty couldn't really do it with the standard factory brakes so I put dual discs on the front, 4 piston calipers and some braided brake lines just for good measure. Works like a charm! :bleh:

Looks like the driver would have been distracted by the other bike doing a stoppie in the other direction. At least they slowed enough to make sure the biker got up before running off.

What a dumb thing to do on a bike!

Stunting looks like fun - I should go find some blind corners to practise around.

I wonder how hard it would be to find a safer place to have fun?

Dumb ass. He's lucky to walk away. He doesn't even appear to be wearing safety gear, and to pull a stunt like that while going past a police officer.

The biker was an idiot. Pulling a stunt on a blind corner. SUV should have stopped, but the biker needs to accept a lot of the blame.

What about the police car that did U-Turn on blind corner, and biker ran into, biker's fault?

Would you like a "p" to go with the three "c"s? Communism is pretty stupid too you know.

Like it or not, hit someone from behind and you will be found at fault 99% of the time. So, if some fuckwit is trailing a bit too close you could make him/her pay for a new bumper and whatever else they might stuff up when you hit the brakes.

Unless you know the actual steatch of road it is not fair to pass such comments.

But Yes what a dick! (regardless of the streatch of road).

I hope one of the on lookers was able to communicate the appropriate message to him so that he looks back at this as a very fortunate escape so lightly.

Partly, yes. But largely the cops fault for choosing a fuckin' stupid place to pull a U-turn.

1% of the time when you hit someone from behind it is their fault. The video in question provides evidence that the SUV driver was only partly at fault. Though it also provides evidence of him illegally leaving the scene of an accident.

Just like the cop choosing a fuckin' stupid place to do a U-turn this bike chose a fuckin' stupid place for pulling stunts while his mate took video of it.

I am not opposed to enjoying some cool stunts on video, but obviously some stunts are cooler than others and some places to stunt are stupider than others. I have some DVDs with a mixture of neat/cool/stupid stunts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97oixr_hb14
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IYmy93YxGA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGdVxfwK1MU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68DXopuO0jk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSZm0d2hK4A

I ordered them from here (in case anyone is interested):
http://www.xtreme-stunts.com/dvd-movies-c-1.html?zenid=3c0aae543ab81ec3bd18b6d0a4597b38

I enjoy watching the stunts, but I also notice the more/less sensible locations and more/less sensible gear being worn. Some wear full leathers, others wear shorts & t-shirt. Some is done in car parks/racetrack/dragstrip others are on public roads. Some on the public roads are from a fairly sensible choice of quiet straight road, others are amongst a lot of traffic. Fun can be had without playing in traffic IMO.

Do you recall doing a the "braking mid corner" exercise when you sat the practical for your learners? Also the road code states that you should be able to stop within half the visible distance in front of you at any given time.

All that aside in this situation though. Fact of the matter is, bike rider was being a dickhead pulling stoppies in a bloddy stupid place, and got owned because of it.

sounds like a defensive driving thing rather than a compulsory thing. But imo thats the same thing. So rider at fault, stunt and whatnot should be done in a carpark if you have to, or a straight road at a minimum. Though the suv probly should have stopped after the fact instead of just driving off.

It's like anything. You make your own luck. Want to be a show off and pull stoppies in front of your mates without thinking... then expect the probability of a car going up your backside. It isn't rocket science.

Yea got all my licences through the army, so possibly did more for the practicle that what you would normally have to do on civi-street.
