in my role as Area Manager for Sulco tools.. i sometimes stumble on a number of unique establishments ..

today was no different...

my phone rang early this morning and it was a KB'r from the old days ..

"SARGE!! come see me .. need some tools .."

"cool... see ya about lunchtime"

set the old TomTom to the coordinates and away i went..

pulled up at an old looking warehouse .. my mate came out and asked me inside ..

im thinking .. ok.. heres where i get robbed and raped

no such luck though.. inside was a VERY large area FULL of THESE (http://www.deus.com.au/#/home/)

yup.. soon to be available in NZ.....

Cafe.. lifestyle accessories.. custom bikes..

my friend called it The Temple of Enthusiasm.. from what i saw inside i believe it ..

look to be opening sometime soon.. still building the shop and i have been asked to keep the location a secret for now but it looks like a cool shop..

oh.. Big Dave .. they do Triumph Bobbers ...:niceone:

they are for the most part based on the Yamaha SR400, but they do the Triumphs and Moto Guzzi and BMW cafe racer style.. all are road legal apparently.. the shop in Oz has a few Indians and HD's done up as Bobbers from what i saw on the website

Nice! I hope he does well. I'll certainly be calling in when he's open. Seen the price of SR500 "Goldies" in the UK? If he can do a similar style based on the SR/TT500 motor for a reasonable sum here I reckon there'll be a lot of interest.

The 1200 Sportster cafe style is nice too. There's a lot of scope if he can keep the price realistic.

I've long admired his Aus. website and was hoping to get there one day next time we're over.

What do they actually do there? acquire low milage bikes and build these one-off customs ?

Some spectacular examples for sure. Such fun for a bunch of folks to take such machines down town for a latte and a brag, and what a brag it would be.

No me neither but cheaper than taking big block harleys or the like as starting blocks. I do hope the prices are 'sensible' and within reach for normal folk though. I found a kit to snaz up Harleys on trade me the other day, looked great but cost $22,000 just for the kit + donor bike and fitting if required. :gob:

Agree that it is an appealing design.
I can do all that stuff if anyone has a business that needs it too.

The flash haters will be along shortly.

Was at Deus in Camperdown last month and they mentioned opening a NZ store very shh shh it was, Good to see the cats kinda out of the bag. Looks like prices for second hand sr's and w 650's are going to go crazy. Same guy that owned Mambo running it, great to see a bike culture thats not cruisers or Sports bikes, Hope they do well.

Am I the only one who can't imagine them selling many units in this current financial climate?

It'll take a lot of latte sales to cover that Auckland rent.

Strangely enough it's ONLY the "high end" units that I'm selling at the moment.

But we all know it's not the sale departments that keep bike shops in business when things go quiet.

But we all know it's not the sale departments that keep bike shops in business.

100% true...'tis the workshop and parts/accessory departments that do without a doubt.
However, for the most part without the sales department selling then there's a smaller pool of customers to keep the other two departments flowing.

Then again...could just sell $6 coffees :shifty:
