Hey Guys, just wondering what happened to all the 250 GP bikes that used to race in NZ. Im just putting a few feelers out as im keen to find someone thats keen to part with a reasonably priced 1991 - 2000 model. I passed up the opportunity on a bargain tz250b about 5 years ago and have bee regretting it ever since. Importing one is an option but thought id check locally first.

any info would be helpful

hey there Steve, a guy called Anthony McCarthy has a very late model RS250 which may (or may not) be for sale.
Sing out if you are interested, and I'll give him a bell.

Bwahhahahahahhahahahahaha!

He is surgically joined to that thing and you well know it!!!
They will need an extra large casket to put them both in together when he shuffles off this mortal coil in 30-40 yrs time.

:shifty:

haha, sounds like me and my RGVsp. Id prefer a TZ but an RS would be just as good. Im not looking for anything ultra flash, just a proper GP toy i can get out the shed once and a while. , have been PM'd a few leads, thanks guys.

hey paul, talking to mark the other day, he tells me you have a new toy too. I sold my RM and always said if i found a well priced TZ i would sell my RGVsp any day. Ive had a real good offer on the RGV so im weighing up my options, seeing whats about.I thought Franks was a 2000 and worth quite a bit? 93 model would be my first choice, with the scalloped swing arm.

Yeah Franks is a early/mid 90's one (93 or 95 I think??) with a pretty fresh rebuild on it.
Last he told me the price would be in the region of $5k.
Don't know if he is serious about selling.
There is a 1990 RS in France for sale on Ebay right now and an 89 coming up in Australia soon apparently. Great for Post Classic racing.
Mike and I are putting final touches on our Post Classic RS250, his factory 92 is ready for action and my trusty 95/98/01 bitsa is ready for action, though it might no see any until next summer!!!
Photo is Mikes 92 NF5 RS250. Bike is a factory racer with kit engine, handmade swingarm, Ti, Mg and Carbon all over it and NXA 02 fairings.

There are a few usually for sale in the UK.......

Take a look on the 250cc championship forum HERE (http://www.two-strokes.com/forums/index.php?showforum=60)

If you want any help with checking a bike out from so far away I know plenty of people to ask in the race scene there.
