SOLD>

i have the answer to the long asked question - "Which bike should i get"

this is the solution:

It is what i call a Honda CRF250RX

This bike is the ultimate trail bike for those not man enough for a 2 stroke

Bought 12 Months ago for my wife to ride, fresh from recieving a top end rebuild from the local honda dealer.

i then got bored and found a whole bunch of goodies for it, this is a totally ridable machine for anyone of any size or ability from beginner to expert, though currently more set up for the more experienced rider

Features of this fine machine:
Electric start - no more falling over in the mud trying to start on the side of a steep hill

CRF250R Cam - Also comes with X Cam

CRF250R Exaust Header - Also comes with X Header

Pro Circuit 496 Performance Muffler - 96db un restricted power

CRF250R Jetting - This is the most crisp tuned CRF i think you'll find for sale

CRF250R Ignition Mod

Opened Up Airbox

These performance mods make this bike go like a CRF250R, with the bonus of suspension valved for trails, a side stand, lights, odometer and of course the electric start

CR250R Tripple Clamps & Number board - this was to neatly remove the bulk of the factory headlight & odometer & there associated mounts - also comes with original tripple clamps, headlight, odometer, cable etc

Cut down stepper seat - Modded for shorter rider, still comfortable for a full size rider. professionally done.

New rear suspension bearings less than 8 hours ago

Wide range gearbox - awesome from the low speeds of the tight sections of trail through to the open straights - in this 5 speed you have a gear for every occaision

Near new rear disc pads

New front disc pads

Near New bridgestone Rear tyre - Very similar charicteristics to the famous Michelin MH3 (which isnt available in 18')

18" Rear wheel - Trail spec, ideal for the roots & rocks that you come across with less chance of tube or rum damage due to the higher profile sidewall

Devol Radiator Braces

EVO Graphics on tank

Inline Fuel Filter on feeder line

Long Range 10L fuel tank, with reserve function - R version has approx 6.5L tank

Radiator Overflow / Reserviour bottle - no more coolant loss due to high temperatures

Custom Made Thick alloy bash plate which comes up the sides as well - no danger of protruding objects damaging your casings

Factory CRF-X thicker Casings - even less chance of damaged casings

Standard X spec Heavier flywheel for stronger bottom end power & less stalling

Easy Access Air Filter Hatch - Side opening as standard of CRF-X

The Bad points: the plastics are a bit scratched from having a few falls, i could replace these, but its purely cosmetic & would only push the price up.

Finally; this bike is currently located in gisborne, however i will be in auckland in june on 2 occaisons, and would happyly deliver it anywhere there or in between there and here, or even places out to the side.

otherwise ill personally deliver it pretty much anywhere, if its in the south island tho it might cost ya!

also i would be happy for a serious buyer to test ride it on the weekend of the 20th of june if not sold.

final facts; its a 2004 Honda CRF250X, its estimated to have done around 130 hours, i know the previous owner personally and most of the riding it did with him on it was rounding up the cows and the odd trail ride, whilst we have owned it, it has done a few trail rides with her on it, a few laps of the mx track with the wife on it, a few with me on it, a few with cheese on it, and for the past 2 rides its had me on it.

im sure a few people here can vouch for my maintenance standards! my credit card statement for MR Motorcycles must be something to go by!

Im after $5000 for this fine machine.

edit: jafa's - note how big and flat my lawn & section is!

How's she liking the CR85? My husband (Littlejohn) replied to your thread when you were asking about them, as i've got a CR80 which i'm learning on (my first bike i've ever ridden).
Hope she's having heaps of fun on it:Punk:

I'm here but.... you're recommending a 4 stroke and i'm well outnumbered in this thread lol. I actually have a mate who wants a 250crfx but has been told he has to spend the money on his wedding. I also told him that they're fucken gutless so yours would be the perfect alternative. I'll talk to him again

hah, haven't heard that one before, i like it. Why is it that they're always about sports? like how you're supposed to grab her like a bowling ball with 2 in the pink and a thumb up the stink... that would leave both holes well snookered, what do ya do then?

Good luck, sounds like a good bike. You didn't fancy the $1 no reserve, it sure makes it stand out, and usually ends up at the required price.

just a classified..

im not in a huge rush to sell it, and im too scared to do the $1 option, especially down here where nobody wants to come have a quick look while the auction runs.

so classified it is, ive put the price up a bit- can always come down but its hard to go up!

if you've got a mate keen or whatever in auckland or anywhere between here and there- i will be bringing it up for 2 weeks in june (9th-21st) so itl be around if anyone wants to check it out / take it for a blat or whatever

yeah, its not exactly due to blow up or anything - ill happyly do a race day on it to prove its reliability if thats what someone requests!

i did another trail ride on it last weekend, though only did about 40km as it started snowing and we all got too cold to continue. once again, didnt miss a beat.
