A word commonly used everyday.
Its a word that is with us and possibly should be added to the dictionary.

There are hundreds of made up words used everyday...just take a look at KB logins?
We converse with each other and refer to each other by our login names at times, even face to face...'Maha this is Stify'' ''Stirts meet MSTRS'' etc.
I get called Maha (not a real word) even when standing a few feet away from someone. In fact, Myself and Mom get called The Mahas (once again, not a real word)

I come up with a word a while ago....Maungatawopwop.
Now this word describes a place that one intends on going to but doesn't really know where it is.

There must be other made up words out there, but they have to have a meaning.

Degithexyism ...six fingered residents

BTW - text is the object, texting is what you are doing while still composing it and once sent, texted is what you did with it.

Came across this word today Skadoosh!

You use this word when you are pretending to do Kung Fu, although I do like to practice my Kung Fu in slow motion so then it would be pronounced Sskkaaadoooooossssshhhh!

Na really its a catch phrase from Kung Fu Panda.

Doh! was introduced to the dictionary a few years ago, though you'll have to have recent dictionary to see it. No reason why texted cant be added.
Text....to send (a text message) by mobile phone.

The word 'text' should have always been in the dictionary. It refers to a body of words. In that context (ha!) 'texted' would not be a word.

Maybe we should say " I TM'ed him" (= text messaged)...easier even than
"texted"

Texted is the wrong terminology.

The word is singular, as in text.. or "I text him the message" not Texted him the message.

It like saying there a lots of sheeps instead of lots of sheep.

I sent a message to Jim (the sports reader on the Paul Henry show)

''Jim! it's the Hurricanes NOT the Hurrikins. please be a point of difference (unlike those on another TV Station) where this is concerned''.

He replied... ''I agree, but the TV3 style guide doesn't. I just follow the rules.''

Then I asked.. ''Thank you for your reply, so it reads 'the Hurrikins' on the auto cue? all sports reporters switch from 'the Hurrikins' to the shortened version 'the canes' you're not alone. Rules can be changed Jim''.

He left it at that.
Pleased to hear the coach at least say the Hurricanes when being interviewed a few nights ago.

I also heard the ''word'' texes on TV the other night when someone was referring to send a text. ie: I sent texes.
