I just bought a bike and realised that the where the rear pipe (muffler?) joins to the collector box (the bit underneath the engine?), well it's not joined! The muffler part sits insdie the collector box part, but the muffler is held in place by the bracket. No danger of it falling off or anything. Likewise there's no noise issue from the system. But it needs a WOF and I fear the WOF men will fail it.
Is there some sort of goo, filler, sealer etc etc that I can smear round the join that will hold it together and seal it to keep the WOF nazis at bay?
I assume I could get it welded, but a tube of stuff might be cheaper and easier?
Cheers

If its not leaking exhaust from the joint and isnt noisy I wouldnt worry about it.
put a rag over the end off the muffler to block it off ,it is leaking you should hear it at the join...you could also fill gaps with manifold seal...supercheap or repco have it..

Is it a simple quick job then, as far as welding goes? I don'y know one end of a welder from another!
