Hey a quick question.

Anyone know which bulbs go into a 09 Ninja 250r? Is it H4 for both sides or are the left and right different?

Was thinking of upgrading. Just wanted to be sure before pulling the fairing off.

Thanks.

A quick google around suggests "Any H4 or 9003 bulb will fit". Dunno what a 9003 bulb is. edit: H4 is apparently incorrect. Read later in this thread...

Be careful putting a larger bulb in it - you will overheat the plastic housing and melt it and overload the wiring and switchgear and eff that too. There are different colour temperature bulbs you can use, and these give an improved light at a cost of reduced life. Or you can upgrade to High Intensity Discharge lamps which gives MUCH more light with a lot less power consumption and less heat AND longer bulb life by far, and they also make your highly noticable by everyone - a great safety benefit.

do you know what kind of bulb you have?Repco etc have "PLUS 30" and "PLUS 50" bulbs which are supposed to give more light for the same power. How that works i dont know but new plus 50 bulbs were definetly better in my car.Thay may be no better than putting a new standard bulb in.

the hella + range are very good, and definitely better than normal H4 bulbs. I used +50% in at least 3 of my bikes, no ill effect, and they consume no more power than a normal H4 bulb.

Currently trying a +90% which is quite new, in my KTM, and everybody comments on the fantastic light it gives off.

The problem with the Hyos are they have a poor headlamp system to begin with, so even with my H1 HID on fullbeam there is still piss all light but it is much better than standard.

Search trademe for "H1 HID ballast". PM me or ask here if you are stuck.

Just wanted to be sure before pulling the fairing off.

Thanks.

You can do it by touch, no need to pull the fairing off.

For anyone interested.

08/09 Ninja 250 uses H7 bulbs. I discovered this too late and now am stuck with a pair of superbright H4's.

Anyone interested in purchasing this off me, heres the tradme link -
